Yes….and unfortunately Broderick Jones plays arguably the most important position on the line and early reports look bad. If he is in fact a bust we need to start looking around.
The shine on Omar Khan is dimming just a little.

Give Jones some time. Tomlin screwed him over from the start by putting him at right tackle.

Jones was drafted with limited experience and instead of letting him grow on the left side Tomlin moved him to the right to placate Moore. Year 2 he was told he would compete for LT with the drafting of Fautanu. But he is still moved between both sides because Moore says he can't play on the right. Then Fautanu gets injured and Jones is again forced to the right side.

It does seem as though Tomlin learned a lesson though. When asked about moving Fautanu to the left, he replied, “No, he doesn’t have enough experience to do that".

Agree on the bone headed decision to try Jones at right tackle. We’ll see. At some point though, he needs to be a 1st round athlete.

Highsmith had his yearly groin pull today. Maybe not a bad thing…we are loaded at outside linebacker. Really curious how our draft picks do this year. I like Khan…but we need to hit on some picks this year. I’m thinking Sawyer might be better than expected. Hoping RB Johnson is the answer also.

Shame about Will Howard. Looks like broken hand…out for at least 3 weeks. I really like the kid. Watching him and his family when we drafted him was pretty cool.
Google it on YouTube.

Yeah, it's too bad we won't get to see him in a game. He probably would have played most of the preseason.

First preseason game:
Lot of pluses!! Especially early on our reserves faced their starters. 87 L Black looked like a steal. Giant of a human with more mobility than thought. Payton Wilson looked great in limited action. Backup QBs looked good. O-line looked good at pass protection. Really almost everyone looked good.

Minus: O-line looked bad run blocking. Saw nothing from Sawyer. Johnson had no where to run so jury is out there. Didn’t hear Harmon’s name.

Second preseason game and I’ve seen nothing to love about Kaleb Johnson. I’ll eat my words but he honestly looks below average. Not big or quick. Goes down easy.
Not as much to like about this game but I like what Roman Wilson is turning into! Also good to see no big mistakes from Broderick. Payton Wilson had a bad game.
Man I hope I’m wrong about Johnson!! We need a good second back!!

In my opinion Johnson looked much better in this game than in the first. I predict that he will be the starter by the end of the season.

I hope you are right. I don’t see it.
