I believe she found him. But the revelations explain her antagonistic attitude toward Kavanaugh during the hearing(s). Her self-hatred and self-disgust compelled her to ventilate her frustrations and ill-feelings about men, who have used her while she was seeking "promotions," out on the Judge.

At the same time her need for approval by a decent man must have caused her immense pain to realize that she would never be able to share the company with someone who was so extraordinarily decent, as the Judge. Harris is a graduate of the Univ Of Calif law school, a top tier school. She was an employee with a law degree, not a secretary with H.S. diploma.
