BAHAHAHA
I gather from your glee that you're finally admitting that you don't care about the U.S. Constitution?

I mean, it's been obvious for years that MAGA hates the Constitution, but it's always interesting when one of you says the quiet part out loud.

... and then cackles about it like a Dr. Evil wannabe.

These MAGA "constitutional scholars" love Trump because he appeals to their more civil side.

Trump's war on the off-white appeals to them bigly while white "invaders" from South Africa get a welcoming gift and a green card.

I posted a link elsewhere in this thread estimating there are 1.4 million people still in the US whose applications for asylum have been heard and denied. Surely this means they've had their "due process" and now it's time to go home, either voluntarily or when ICE comes knocking on the door.

Does "due process" mean some of these people get to say ok, we may have lost on our (bogus) asylum claims, but we've found half a dozen other immigration law loopholes that need to be "adjudicated" before we can legally be deported?

"Due process" should NOT mean the 12 million illegals who flooded in under Biden get to game the system in order to remain in the USA indefinitely!

In the case of that saintly MS-13 gang member ("Maryland man") Kilmar Abrego Garcia, it was reported that he had 17 administrative hearings on his immigration status before he was finally shipped to el Salvador. That sounds like a fuck of a lot of "due process" to me.

OK, calm down everyone please.

SCOTUS did not say that deportation under the Alien Enemies Act is unconstitutional.

SCOTUS simply sent the case back down to the lower court with instructions to decide whether the President's order is unconstitutional, and how much notice the alien enemies must be given.

It's a tactical loss for sure, but not a strategic one and the issue still has not been decided on its merits.

This is classic SCOTUS--delay, delay, delay on formalities. But no definitive ruling one way or another yet exists.

Everything you post has spin. My post didn’t. My post said it was a tactical loss, not strategic. Your post obviously stated it was a significant loss, but didn’t present the other side of it. Hardly fair and balanced. Try again Mr Gristle. Without spin.

Most of the country is against the deportations, as they are being conducted. They can't all be "libtards".

What country are you living in?

But one policy had near-unanimous support (+76 points, on net) in the AP/NORC poll: deporting undocumented immigrants who have been convicted of a violent crime. Americans even favored deporting legal immigrants who have been convicted of a violent crime by 52 points. But when the pollster asked about deporting immigrants who are in the country illegally who have not been convicted of a violent crime, Americans were marginally opposed (by 7 points).

Bump!

Serious questions deserve serious answers.

Democrats keep blathering on about "due process"... but they can't explain what it actually means in terms of our ability to deport illegal immigrants.

Funny how "due process" (defined broadly as following the rules) was ignored on the way in by most of Joe Biden's 12 million illegals. But hey, once they're here it becomes sacrosanct, even for criminals and gangbangers.

The reason Dems won't talk about the meaning of "due process" is because they know it's just a code word for doing anything & everything to gum up the deportation process.

TPS was legal. Revoking it is legal as long as they do it properly and confirm that the conditions that led to TPS being used have been resolved.

Ruling wasn't about revoking it from illegal immigrants. That's sensationalist spin.

This was the avenue to take, not the Alien Enemies Act.

There's calls for a smarter, nuanced approach as well... from some Republicans

Trump admin now needs to provide some clarity for folks. So that business owners and TPS recipients can plan and act accordingly.

It's going to get messier and more painful before it gets better, but if they provide ample guidance and a time frame it can also be handled somewhat orderly and without the need for mass depositions.
