By 'staying even' bambino means the Vegas Books try and get the same amount of money bet on each team. In Football there is a 10% vig that the loser pays.

So say the Texans are playing those sorry ass Steelers....the Vegas Books would love to see one million bet on the Texans and one million bet on Pissburg.

That way they take in 1.1 million from the losing side and pay out 1 million to the winner for a 100k profit..

They move the line based on how the PUBLIC is betting. Nothing to do with the media.
