One day before the appointment ( over 24 hrs) I woke up with a cold, trying to be respect full, I left it up to her rather than can cell or just show up anyway ( she wouldn't have known I was sick as it was just a fever and headache). She decided to cancel. After she said it really hurt her financially. I offered her slightly over half the amount if she would come and get it. She does. After I get better we begin planning another date. She then tells me that the "cancellation" fee, which she never asked for, I offered, cannot be used for any future dates. This was no $125. It was 6 hundred. Am I right in being pissed enough to cancel the next date? If this is how she does things I'm not sure I want to give her my busssiness any more. For the record I only asked that SOME of the money be used for the next date, not all.
You're justified in feeling the way you do, IMO. I appreciate a gent who cancels when he's sick and we all understand that stuff just happens that can't be planned for. She shoulda gone with a plan B if she was that tight on money. And the lack of appreciation by trying to bend you over, rather than do something nice in return, well.....not the best way to behave. But some other gent mighta gone for it in the past, so she thought she'd give it a try again..... Her bad, cause it sounds like you kinda enjoyed her company or something.

Having said this, I've seen and read about some gents who trip all over themselves goin' for ladies who treat 'em less than they deserve. Some men/women just kinda seem to get sucked into these situations and then scratch their heads and wonder why it keeps happening. So, if the end result was less than what ya had hoped for, change what ya did or try a different kind of lady. Who knows, maybe next time, you'll get a better result. It could happen.

Sorry you had a negative experience. Keep searching, as I have faith that you'll find the Miss Hobby, that's right for you! BOL

Some people look for teaching moments. Others look for opportunities to rub a person's face in the mud.

Yeah, it's always good to kick somebody when they are down. Teaches them a lot about this wonderful community.

Growing thick skin, keeps us from feeling, don't ya think? Is it an important thing to be able not to feel hurts or wrongs or simply not to express that we might?

Not dissing what you say, am just curious why anyone would think this way. IMO, It's important to feel, cause otherwise, how would we know how to behave appropriately to one another. Just my opinion.

and if you didn't pay a cancellation fee what would of happened? she sends you to collections? NO.. worst case she would of not seen you again..

so yes I would be pissed, but what were you thinking giving her 600 bucks ? if you could afford to give her that much money than you could of afforded risking getting her sick

a fair point in the context of "feelings" but that's not what i mean. i'm talking about the ability to handle it when someone - or a group of someones - tells you straight up that you're doing it wrong, regardless of whether or not the delivery offends you. that's a fundamental thing on the internet, where all you have are typed words. if you're going to put it out there, you have to be prepared to have somebody say that you done fucked up without getting butthurt.

at that point, either defend intelligently or accept the lesson.

this guy is worried about his hurt feels because the girl in question seems uncaring or ungrateful, but the fundamental thing is, he gave her money as a cancellation fee well outside anything reasonable. that was a stupid fucking thing to do, and he needs to hear that. i seriously doubt she would've offered to fuck him for free on a different day if she'd been sick....

Not sure why all the expletives were necessary, but you made your point, and thank you. Also, it kind of makes me pause to know everyone accepts the fundamentals as is, and makes no effort to behave better. It is what it is, because folks don't call others on bad behaviors and tell 'em to grow thick skin and stuff and others feel it is there duty to add insult to injury. I suppose a drama ridden board wouldn't be much fun without the drama?

Eureka! I may be on to something...LOL
