How is that working out...

The US government has continued to admit something bad was done to them.

guys, you really should not call them indians and they are not indians. That is a 500 year old error that was never corrected and this is unfortunate because the error is written into our constitution.

the current workaround for the name is Indigenous Native Americans or just Indigenous Americans. they are at least 15 different subcategories of Native Indigenous Americans of North America.

oh yeah... they're hard workers when they're not drinking.

Black tribes in Africa profited by capturing other tribesmen and selling them to the slave traders.

Native American tribes were not exactly buddy buddy. Apache were well know for torture.

correct on both counts which makes any talk of reparations nonsense at best. or worse.

the Apache and Comanche in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona forced the Mexican army out of their territory many times. the Comanche especially in Texas essentially invented "mobile infantry" by waiting until the Mexican army was in the open plains plodding along using European battle formations and would swoop down on horseback and encircle them and cut them to pieces with bow and arrows.

The Comanches, known as the "Lords of the Plains", were regarded as perhaps the most dangerous Indians Tribes in the frontier era. The U.S. Army established Fort Worth because of the settler concerns about the threat posed by the many Indian tribes in Texas. The Comanches were the most feared of these Indians.

VM, a racist slur? The Lakota (that you wrongfully call Souix) are from east of the Mississippi River. They lost their home because someone bigger and badder beat them out of their homes. So, they moved to South Dakota and the area around it.

Now, we get some kind of warning about hijacking this thread.

You fail to say what year that map represents. Today, you'd have to find all the reservations unless you want to go by the names of sports teams. Here by Seminoles and here by the World Champion Chiefs. Really named after the first owner but you know activists.

The Lakota lost their land before the Europeans showed up. Do we have to call them Europeans since most of them were born on this continent? I mean the woke don't like calling them Americans when they're talking about indigenous people who they claim are the real Americans. Then again, American is an affectation of the Europeans again. Named after an Italian cartographer.

I think that map represents a rough estimate of where the native Indigenous american tribes were located before the european settlement between 1490 to 1600.

its been estimated that North America (canada & U.S.) was home to 70 - 100 million indigenous americans.
