Yet again, an Austin Co-Ed discussion dissolves into a mess of name-calling and hateful insults. This board is appearing less like a community and more like a place for people to take out their frustrations by degrading each other every day.

Dominant strategy in cooperative games is benign forgiving tit for tat; start nice, treat people as they treat others, maybe let one attack slide just because information can be imperfect. If everyone plays that way it looks like Pollyanna strategy, perfect cooperation and civility.

For the purposes of generating revenue site traffic alone is not enough. The visitors to the site need to click on the ads and some of those potential customers need to actually patronize the advertisers. It's that traffic, the through-traffic that justifies and supports ad rates and generates revenue. If the site visitors aren't buying what's advertised (because of the economy) then advertisers will not buy ads and then ad rates will need to drop and, at least in the near term, site revenues may decrease. At least until potential advertisers can be certain that the ad rates are low enough that they assure increased business at an affordable cost.
