You never read the articles do you, CBJ7? The $100,000 price tag was for the extra plane -- not the extra agents. The agents, mentioned in the article btw, would add even more to the costs.

They don't fly the POTUS and the Veep on the same plane because in case of a crash, it would make the Speaker POTUS.

There's no reason to send Michelle and President Obama on different planes. The FLOTUS can adjust her schedule.
