I saw a poll a year or so ago, where 50% of the people still blamed Bush our economic woes compared to about 30% Obama, when do you think republicans will take responsibility for screwing up the economy? About half the debt incurred during the Obama administration is simply interest on the debt inherited from reagan,bush and bush. I never forget to blame reagan, the 2 trillion debt he built up during his terms is now about 5 trillion, about a third of the national debt, with 30 years of interest. I thought reagan took care of those russians, a trillion dollars wasted trying bankrupt the russians when they were doing a perfectly fine job of doing it themselves.
Compare 911, starting 2 unfunded wars (Iraq was a complete boondoogle and afghanistan produced limited results) , lying about the deficit,wateboarding,warrantle ss wiretaps, katrina, and causing the greatest recession in 80 years to Benghazi, a messed up healthcare website or any of the other BS republicans have flung at him and tell me who screwed up worse. Imagine republican outrage, if Obama had continued to read " My pet goat" while the country was in the middle of a terrorist attack or said " deficits don't matter" as cheney so cutely said.
When Obama took over the VA spending about 50 bill a year, now the VA budget is is about 160 billion a year and likely increase. We will be paying trillions in the future for bush's "legacy". More soldiers kill themselves each year than were killed in the Iraq war, I wonder if bush ever considered such a thing before sent them to battle.

I guess you missed Romney's speech in South Carolina when he said we shouldn't have defense cuts because it would cost jobs, no mention of security needs. Defense spending is 10% of North Carolina's economy, can you say welfare state?

You are correct that the next admin continues the policies of the previous, What choice did Obama have when he took office in 2009,pull out of Iraq and afghanistan immediately? probably wouldn't have been prudent. There are those of us that aren't completely happy with Obama, but compared to bush and reagan, he's a HUGE improvement.
I don't believe the $4 trillion increase in defense spending since 2000 is inconsequential, rather it's a huge drag on the economy. When do you think the defense department will get their accounting system they've been working on since 2004 and is $8 billion over budget up and running? Where's the republican outrage?
