What’s telling is the fact that this even is reported as EU backing down.
Our wet Cheeto of a SCROTUS is going to end up bending over to every country on earth... once he gets the go-ahead from Vlad the Colluder.

Right, we print money. Isn't there a Peter and Paul involved there?

Let's hope the farmers don't wash it with a bankruptcy...
I suppose you were equally "outraged" when Obaminable was pissing off the taxpayers' money. "Socialism" or repaying election debts?

We've had "farm subsidies" for decades .... longer than you've been around that's for sure.

American farmers selling soybeans to the EU is not funded, in any exceptional way, by the taxpayers any more than American farmers selling soybeans to the Chinese. The EU just agreed to pick up China's slack.

You're a moron, speedy. It's the soybean market in China that was impacted by the new tariffs, and China is damn well stealing American intellectual property, speedy. So, something damn well needs to happen to stop that, and holding China accountable is a first step.

Well that certainly frames the debate!
BTW -- you forgot to remind everybody that you were receiving farm subsidies before the rest of us were in Buster Browns!

I'm with Dilbert on the farm subsidies. Our tax dollars pay for them. They do fund selling soybeans by American farmers, to the EU, China and wherever else they sell.
Hopefully the US and EU will follow through and get rid of tariffs instead of intensifying the trade war. That would be a great outcome. The situation with Canada, Mexico and China is still scary. Hopefully this development with the EU is a glimmer of light and Trump will start listening more to people like Larry Kudlow and Steven Moore, and ignore flakes like Navarro and Bannon.

That doesn't change anything: "American farmers selling soybeans to the EU is not funded, in any exceptional way, by the taxpayers any more than American farmers selling soybeans to the Chinese."

Good point, we don't know what the outcome of the talks will be. Trump is an enigma. It's possible he'll negotiate a world with lower tariffs, where the Chinese don't take advantage of us. Or it's possible he'll really muck things up. I'm afraid it's the later. He does posture to try to get an advantage, like he did with North Korea. He does change his mind, either because it's to his political advantage or because he believes he was wrong. On trade though, he appears to really believe what he says. Last week he tweeted "Tariffs are the greatest!" That's not a good sign.

Is someone posting on a hooker board that they have some knowledge of what is going on in Trump's mind while at the same time calling him an "enigma"?
I suppose for some U.S. citizens aka taxpayers it's a challenging decision on whether to subsidies U.S. farmers in order to beat down the Europeans or pay Afghan farmers not to grow poppies. What a tough choice!

And silence those claiming "his wanting to go into a trade war that will hurt us more".
