I always bring my ipod dock and have music playing in the background, not too loud, and nothing intrusive...I have created a playlist just for sessions, and it includes artists such as , Enigma, Air, Zero 7, Moby etc...
I was actually a bit shocked when I read this thread because the majority of guys are saying they care not for music because most of my clients always tell me they like it

I've only had 2, maybe 3 ladies put music on. But it's a good way for them to create a playlist and time the session w/o being an obvious clock watcher.

Honestly I don't even play it for that reason...I love music and I think it creates a nice sexy ambiance!....

LOL ok , well i just kind of consider like background ummm ambiance
but you do have a valid point and i will try to think of an alternative. What about just girls without a guy in it?

Absolutely HATE tv in background, find the changing picture annoying/distracting. Jazz/fusion is nice, just at a level that falls away when other sounds take over, if you know what I mean.

Light classical in the AM. Sexy jazz like Sade or Billie Holiday is good. I used to have a disc with some classic rock on it like Crazy On You and Magic Man. Some chicks loved it.

No music for me because I'm hard of hearing. I have a hard enough time understanding the ladies anyways, especially if she's got a soft voice. As far as the TV, No But Hell No!!. TV's real distract me and little fella. Little fella don't want to come out an play.LOL

Definitely no television...what an invasive distraction.
Music OTOH, I guess it would depend on the lady. I had one girlfriend years ago that absolutely turned into a freak if I played Nine Inch Nails.
I learned to like Nine Inch Nails.
Ultimately though, a woman's voice and moans is music to my ears.

Music played soft in the background is okay, but not any of that friggin' head banging shit ( I'll do my own head banging on the headboard, thank you )
Being an old fart I like the 70's music, especially the sad whine of the sax in Bob Seger's "Turn The Page"
As for porn on TV....hmmm....sometimes maybe, but I find myself trying to keep up with the studs on film, and most ladies I know can't stand upside down against the wall while I'm doing her.
Now, if she's watching Sportscenter, I could swing that LOL

Sarah, that is until you see my ugly face. Then you'd want the lights off and a blindfold !

Shorty, great point about music making it hard to discern what is being said if you're hearing impaired (and a lot of us are).

I love Jazz R&B or classic rock - usually try to get my client to help me choose - it's a good ice breaker too. Never had anyone tell me they don't want any music.
LOL please just tell me the truth - my feeling are mine not the other way around.
