The question highlights the drawbacks of working with texts. They have a place, when the date itself is imminent, but more formal approaches, such as e-mail, seem to work better at the onset.

That being said, I would agree with Montana1958: text back as soon as you can.

It's the most professional thing to do. Not texting back at all would seem unprofessional unless the initial text you received was inappropriate in some way (and a couple of the text messages you received in your example, Frankie, seem highly inappropriate to me).

there is a lot of good info and points brought up here. every has different situations. with me i am single so it don't matter when i get a text. if i don't hear any thing in lil over an hour i figure they are booked and busy. the only time it did get me was when i was pulling into my drive way 3 hours after i text a provider and she told me she was available. by that point i was over an hour away from where she was. but i did appreciate her getting back to me. durring the week day time i cant check my email when at work have to wait to get home. also we are not allowed to have cell phones in the building. if i am expecting a text i will check it on my breaks. txt is good also email is good for me. down fall is i type as fast as i think so i tend to leave walls of txt when on the computer. and i am sorry to all who had to suffer through my walls of txt . txt on phone, i have an old school cell so i have to hit number pad to get one letter. i tend to be short on phone txt because my thumb get sore lol.

Vm1200 your post has inspired a new question for me to ask everyone.

If you think of driving a car, riding a bike, brushing your teeth....

(mostly subconscious actions that should be more conscious yet have a habit to be unconscious once in awhile lol)

I am wondering what everyone thinks actually happens the most out of these two scenarios when a client books an appointment with a provider??!

Do you think that a client who has too much to lose in their personal life automatically shoulders the responsibilty to state communication restrictions?

or

Do you think that a client who has too much to lose throws caution to the wind, regardless of their personal lives, because they are so focused on a happy ending?

The question fits the thread (sort of) because I am curious if you think the majority does the right or wrong thing without really thinking..

and if a tree falls in the for....

....lol

Seems like the logical answer should be "A" but my bet goes with "B" as being the most common. For me, I'm a free man. Call me anytime. When I don't want to receive calls I turn my phone off. thats what the power switch is for. when I want to receive calls but don't want anyone to know I did, I turn the ringer down, thats what the volume is for. If i'm expecting a call back but don't want to be disturbed by anything other than an emergency call, i say "it's ok to call up to x:xx, otherwise call tomorrow after x:xx". If a person is playing this game with much to lose, it seems like they need to take all responsibility possible to ensure that their secrecy is not breached.
Or, they could move to Utica where I live, Nobody calls anybody in utica ROFLMA !

I have to apologize about the utica comment. Its not true that "nobody" comes to Utica. A number of fine ladies have offered and have come to utica for a rendevous and we've had some really fun times. I will re-phrase to say, you greatly reduce your chances of calls (or any contact!) if you live in an area where there are no providers, or where either you or the provider had to drive to hrs each way for a get together. just sayin... Utica is a wide open market (sorry for the thread hijack)

Texting is fine , if you don't want a text back at a bad time you shouldn't be texting in the first place. Some people don't have smart phones and emailing wouldn't work once you're enroute, so any response in a resonable amount of time is sufficient, I usually move on if I don't hear anything back. I found your TCB skills to be excellent.

I was thinking the same thing. Most of us use a hobby phone so it's not a problem. But, if you don't and you open communication with a lady, you should accept the "consequences" of them responding to you.

I received a text at 5.58am today from an unknown number stating...Hey guys, I'm here in Buffalo.
Fortunately , I don't have to answer to anybody but it was a tad early.

I appreciate the heads up although I have no idea who sent it, but a little common courtesy such as a name and a glance at the clock before sending would have been nice.

BTW if anyone received the same and would care to pm the identity I would appreciate it.

Gotta agree with Lynn's methods. It works for me. Unless I'm requested to call for a chat, it's ussally one or two emails(intro/time request and confirm)and one call or text upon arrival.

Default i agree if you text

you should expect a text back but i have received out of the blue text from providers i have seen [ though never texted] 2 years ago and from providers i have only called [not texted] to inquire if they tour my area. neither was a good situation.

I'm going to go back and read this thread but before I got distracted, I thought I would answer the question.

First, I don't think I'll ever text a woman unless in email or PM or P411 she sends me her number and says texting is okay with her (preferred by her?). That's my rule; but, there are probably exceptions I'm not thinking about.

Once I text, I assume she's shagging the dog snot out of someone. I don't expect an answer back immediately. I am generally happy if I get a text back within the "two guy window".

TWO GUY WINDOW: She's shagging someone now. She has to get rid of him and clean her stuff up for the next guy at which point she'll be too busy to text back. In general it can be two hours and 28 minutes before she sends a text back, but, that's it. The limit. LOL!

The reality is that I appreciate a return text at any point, to include the next day or two.

1. It lets me know that her number hasn't changed
2. It lets me know by being courteous that I may still be a contender for time

Typically though I use text with an established friend and it is the fire alarm. In other words, "Damn it, I woke up uncontrollably horny. HELP ME PLEASE!"

If I don't get a text back in 16 1/2 minutes during one of the bat calls, I'll go to text number two with a different established friend and repeat the process until I'm locked in to be unloaded.

i usually prefer texting with someone I have met or at least talked to. as far as getting a return text, as long as it isnt explicit, no problem. not out of the ordinary to get random wrong number texts if an explanation is needed. I think a return text within a couple of hours is OK if no other time frame is stated.
