Interesting question, why always Hitler? There have been many despots in our recent history; Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Mussolini, Franco, Hirohito, Tito, etc. Why Hitler? Because Hitler was the only one ELECTED to office and that is why we should be concerned. His rise to power is likely the closest to same thing that could happen in the US. I believe it is impossible for someone to overthrow our government by force.
On a side note; it is said that generals always plan on how to fight the last war and so it is with mediocre minds. If anyone thinks that a new despot will show up in high boots, brown shirts, and arm bands then they are fools. The despot will wear a business suit and his top Lts will wear suits. The followers may wear T-shirts and jeans. Purple T-shirts.
I guess I was wrong about most of the people here. There are a few exceptional minds here and the sad part is that if you don't then you will never know.

COG I cant believe your buying into this. To begin with they dont need to "wiretap" the internet. There's no way to do that anyway. They can observe our conversation, and under the patriot act obtain a warrent to have your service provider give them your personal information from your ISP. This is not new. They are not asking for anything new, they are only asking to be able to keep the access they now have which is being lost due to encryption and other technology. Comparing the techniques of a fascist to another who could be a fascist is not saying that one is like the other. Kind of like saying that one baseball player hits like Jackie Robinson is not saying I think he is Jackie Robinson. So when I say that Hitler was elected and manipulated the people of Germany into war is not the same thing as saying Obama is like Hitler. What I'm saying is that many of the techniques used by both the Communists and Nazis in Germany are being replicated in many ways by neo-democrats in office right now. Try to exercise a few more brain cells and build up your brain.

As for saving the uber rich. It can be called by many names; fairness, freedom, capitalism, the right thing.
Am I rich? No, but some day I could be if a couple of things work out. I remember a number of years ago working in a shipyard working my ass off 84 hours a week. It was 100 degrees on most days (New Orleans). When tax day came I found that I paid nearly 50,000 dollars in taxes that year. I didn't one single person next to me helping pull cables and test electronics. I did get to see so many people eating better than me, driving better cars than me, and living in section 8 apartments using food stamps at the grocery store. I paid for all of that.
