I'd definitely like to see what Croyle could do...but I feel fairly certain after a max of a quarter he'd be out for the year with another knee or arm injury, if only Cassel's durability could be combined with Croyle's skills, we'd have a pretty good QB. For a little while I was a bit sorry the team missed out on Jimmy Clausen, then I see how bad he's failing in Carolina. Still, I'm sure his former head coach being his offensive coordinator would help him out a lot. And outside of Steve Smith, Carolina's receivers make ours look like pro bowlers. Hopefully we can finally get a young stud QB next year in the draft, and a few WRs. Still, this was an impressive loss, especially on the defensive side. Brandon Flowers is a beast!

I dont believe that Cassel is Haleys guy, something about the way I see him look at him, I think he is Pioli's baby/bastard and Hailey is stuck with him. They invested 60 million in him and we had the same skill sets or maybe even better already here with Croyel and could have spent that 60 mil on some WR's. I know everyone is concerned that he is injury prone, but the line is better and from what I understand he has put on a lot more body mass from the training room and who is to say he would never be hurt again, would you give up on that kid in Detroit, he's been hurt two years in a row, he could get hurt again or never get injured the rest of his career. Who's to say Cassel wont het hurt in the next game, you never know.

Oh and for those who are clamoring for more Jamal Charles, when Charles carried the ball for more than 25 carries a game he lasted 6 games before he was hurt. He is not built to withstand that much continuous use. Thats why you use a back like Jones, a bull who beats up the defense and wears them down for a half and then you let lose with the speed back. Otherwise your going to have a hurt Jamal Charles, if you want history you have Charles last year 6 games, another back his size Carnel Williams has not lasted a fuill year his whole career, Warrick Dunn, when he was the featured back he never finished a year. When he worked in a Tandum he lasted.

Kc I think you will find I am a reasonable guy, I am just a big believer in personal responsibility. There is too much, "it's not his fault, his teacher doesnt like him", enabler type attitudes in this country.

I was listening to one of the talking heads on NLF.com this morning and he made an observation which matches what I have noticed about Cassell. His throws have no ZIP on them. His passes arnt fast enough, when he was in NE and the WR could get 3 or 4 steps on the defender it was okay but when our receivers can only get about 1 or 2 steps if any on a defender the ball traveling slower enables to DB to recover and defend the ball.
