Nope, but the government could ban all flights coming from the infected areas, which they aren't doing. The first responsibility of the government is to protect American citizens, which they aren't doing, as politics has taken over.

That wouldn't stop other people from diverting to other countries to get here. That would make it harder for the government to track who they might have came in contact with. At least if they come directly here we can quarantine and track them. Stopping flights is not going to solve the problem.

Default Questions...

How many have died of Ebola since this outbreak (July 2014)? 518

How many might die of Malaria today? 1,722

Have fun doing the research...

EDIT... added the numbers for the lazy ones.
Facts from the www.who.int website.
Estimated Ebola related deaths since July 6th, 2014 is 518 deaths.
Latest estimated Malaria related deaths are at 627,000 per year, 52,250 per month, 12,057 per week, or 1,722 per day.

So in closing... NO
I am a hell of a lot more worried about those damn mosquitoes then Ebola.

Panic is being caused by news outlets and politicians trying to turn it into political advantage.

While I am not concerned with Ebola, your death numbers are a little off. The total dead in west Africa during this current outbreak is over 4700 and by Dec. 1st at the current rate of outbreak will surpass malaria in Guinee, Sierra Leon and Lyberia.

600,000 will die this year from heart disease.

If you think you could catch ebola, then you probably think you could win the lottery.

I worry more about getting shot by the police for jaywalking then catching ebola.

WOW is all I can say about that total cluster fuck of a web site and their so called facts... they should not be allowed to report on anything ever again.

Here are the numbers world wide per the CDC and WHO websites.

Total number of Ebola cases in humans since first documented in 1976... 7,016
Yes you read that right.. that is the total number of confirmed *Ebola cases including the latest outbreak.
No that is not just Africa.. that is the total WORLD WIDE, all countries.

Out of the 7,016 confirmed *Ebola cases there have been 3,979 deaths, including the death of Mr. Duncan in Dallas.

This current outbreak is the worst in history... so far this year there have been 4,655 case and out of those 2,431 deaths.
Prier to this year the worst reported cases was in 2000-2001 with 425 cases and 224 deaths.

*Statistics include the following viruses...
Bundibugyo virus, Ebola virus, Reston virus, Sudan virus and Taï Forest virus.

situatio

The world heath organization in their situation report of Oct 17th 2014 list the following

Guinea deaths - 862
Liberia deaths - 2484
Sierra Leone - 1200

for a total of 4546 with an * indicating an additional probable deaths of 145. The report also indicates an outbreak in the republic of the congo not associated with this break out.

http://www.who.int/csr/disease/ebola...on-reports/en/

As for the picture, I am sure that testing will confirm it as ground zero for the outbreak.

Took me a few minutes of scratching my head to figure out why the numbers were so far off from one site to the other even though they both list the same numbers up to 2012.

The numbers I provided are the confirmed cases and deaths per the CDC website.
The numbers in the WHO situation report of the Oct. 17th includes the probable and suspected numbers along with the confirmed.

Even with doubling the numbers it is still a far cry from the reported cases of Malaria deaths.
I am not too worried about it either... I doubt it very much if any mosquitoes could survive in that blender.

So my answer to the OP question is still NO it has not made me hesitate in the least, because no matter what you do, when your time is up... your time is up.
