I have it, but don't know how it works. I'm using Firefox on a Mac. It's a good question how to make this work.

Life without spell check? Not happening. Out of curiosity, how many of y'all are good spellers?

The only spell I'm good at it...is sitting for one, with a beer, watching the world go by.

My parents were teachers. Correct English and good spelling were drilled into me. Like WTF, I get pretty critical about ads in that respect. Although, I've found that the ad doesn't necessarily reflect the lady. I've chosen ladies whose ads/websites have impeccable English and spelling, and in person it is quite apparent that someone else set it up. They torture the English language.

Spell check works great for me except in those cases where I don't get close enough to the correct spelling to get a useful hint. LOL

Define "elite"? The gentlemen aren't necessarily elite... They're successful, they're generous, but elite? Many men who book the high end ladies aren't necessarily rolling in money. They're comfortable, manage their money well, and can afford to spoil themselves with the women they really like. They can't necessarily afford to sit around burning money.

People are just people - it doesn't matter how much money they make. It doesn't matter if they're rich investors, political leaders or construction workers and high school teachers. I think at the end of the day what you want to strive for are *good* men. Men who will treat you like an equal, who are kind, who are safe, who are warm. Good men who are happy to invest that money into the lifestyle of another woman, want to know she's a good woman, and be treated with the same consideration he offers.

If what you want to do is earn more while seeing fewer people - or earn the same and see fewer people - there is much that can be done.

My suggestion: Display your personality. Don't write the usual bio text. Don't take the usual pictures. Distinguish yourself from the background notice of "I like five star restaurants and opera". Dare to be yourself.

Longer dates are important - dinner dates and overnights have to be something you really enjoy. As mentioned already, your rate structure should make it obvious that your preference is for longer engagements.

You don't need reviews, you don't need discussion boards.

As WTF mentioned, if you want to raise your financial expectation, then what you have to do is have enough income from regulars to keep you stable even if you meet no one new, or another source of income. Then raise your rates gradually or suddenly, and be prepared for the first year to be slow if you make a major price change. I've noticed the second year picks up for most women and the third year hums along nicely. It's a long term decision, and it requires initial investment without immediate return.

Being avialable to travel, and being able to tour and LOOSE money, is also important. You don't know where you'll meet the ones that will matter, so you have to do some blind exploring.

I agree. I didn't start using boards until a year ago, and I don't have many reviews. There are certain types of clients who don't leave reviews. The reason for that is because the type of lady they see doesn't need them to accumulate her clientele. Most of my regulars are actually from referrals (not reviews - similar, but different).

Its also important to consider that like attracts like. Other posters have mentioned spell check, higher quality websites, and higher quality photos. These things matter. A man who is looking for companions in the $1k range isn't looking for just a little "pickle tickle". He wants to be able to take her out, be seen, talk to her intelligently, etc. He knows he can find the physical anywhere. But the extra something...that's not on a "rare-escort" type of site most of the time. However, there are exceptions.

As long as you make an effort to check and recheck, put your best foot forward, and advertise higher rates in places where higher dollar clients look, you'll do fine. Be prepared to be slow for a good while. It does't happen over night.

WTF, Lauren and Charles are correct. Gradually increase your rates once you have an established client base that can be grandfathered, and structure your rates to encourage longer engagements. There’s no downside to spending more time with the gentlemen you meet – I find the more time I spend with them, the less they are “clients” and more fellow travelers and, if everyone’s lucky, friends.

As to slick and professional, it’s a requirement, but slick isn’t necessarily expensive. Websites need not be expensive to be slick or professional. I designed mine. Pictures and text on the other hand, MUST be professional. Professional text is free; professional pictures aren’t. Pictures say a thousand words. If you pay $550 for five to six great photos, amortize that over what you make a year. Since it’s pennies on the dollar, how expensive are professional photos? Not very.

Much wisdom here, Irish. Best of luck to you. I think it all starts with desire. And this you have.

People with a degree in English are notoriously poor spellers. Trust me on this one!!! I'm in that mix. I'm always misspelling obviously simple words.

Sorry for the thread drift but spelling and presentation is everything in this business. Good luck with the upward climb!

Hugs,
Elisabeth

I know why you travel & I also know why you be where you be! [Atrocious grammar, notwithstanding, not one word mispelled! ] After doing a little research, it actually looks like a neat little corner of the world!

I'm sure your special ones miss you when you gone & I'm sure they make you special when you get home! You've already gotten tons of great advice from our friends much more qualified than I to render such advice!

Bon chance & let us know how it all turns out!
