Hi,

I'm sorry you have to feel so much "pain." The cleanings must be "torture."

I am sending you my blessings for fast healing and no scarring.

I kiss my "friends" scars, btw and I'm sure a lot of ladies with "C" sections know about that feeling of being shunned and unattractive.

I was fortunate to have a father that was a medic in the Army (in Japan). He would take us to the unit on the weekends to visit the guys that had returned from Vietnam. It gave me a greater appreciation/respect for those whose "outer shell" has been changed.

Hopefully, you were able to be seen at BAMC....We have the best burn unit in the world. I know for a fact that the ointment they use on burn patients allows the skin to heal with little or no scarring.

It does hurt our ego but those emotions will build your character. If a provider "shuns" you because of them, she shouldn't be in the business.

BTW, I really enjoy reading your post!

Sincerely,
Wet

"Helloooo Nurse!" -Anamaniacs
Thanks Wet.
Actually the EMTs and ER people had a little, somewhat unprofessional exchange about that. The EMTs asked their dispatch if I should go to BAMC or not since it was under 15% of total body burned (they called it 10-12) and worst were 2nd degree. They were told it was their call and opted for University since it was much closer. The people at Uni were all 'Why didnt you go to BAMC'? I was kinda morphined up by then but was like 'Um, Im here now and not gettin any better while you discuss it".

I kiss my wife's C-section scar often.. wonderful thing. Thinking of which bugs me because my lips are blistered right now and cant kiss anyone anywhere

Im mostly worried about the face since Im no Brad Pitt to begin with.. got my share of regular scars with stories behind em.. all good.

Hi,

Your very welcome!

Wow, I guess they changed their procedures. I thought they were suppose to take ALL burn victims to BAMC. hmmm, Maybe someone can enlighten us on this subject.

I'm not familiar with how ambulances make a profit but your statement makes me wonder. Since you did have to call them for help, you would think that they would take you to the best "facility" for your injury. It would be horrible to find out their are more concened about their profit margin than the patient. Just curious, Does anyone know about their (ambulances) "accounting" system?

Your remark about your wife's C section is soooooooooo sweet! I'm sure you make her feel very sexy! That's GREAT!

Aww, your lips and face, Right now, you're probabley looking at a whole different person in the mirror which can be "horrific" but please be patient and get your rest (the body needs sleep to heal). Soon your perception will change concerning "vanity." A lot of us don't realize we are vain until something happens to our face, boobs, or whatever we think attracts the opposite sex.

To be honest, it has happened to me a few times....hehehe...the first time I didn't leave the house for months and of course, the body heals and years later...it happened again! I guess I missed the lesson I was suppose to learn the first time around.....ahehehehe...but anyway, I handled it differently the second time around. I continued my normal life (catching the bus and etc..) with my head held high! I have to admit I didn't realize I was that vain until those incidences and decided it was time to through away my t-shirts that said "Some many men So little time." aeheheheheh...

Sincerely,
Wet

I'm not into self pity so not wallowing in it, but facts are facts I look pretty nasty right now.. my wife is being wonderful caring for me, helping me shower with a plastic bag over my arm, changing bandages. My 7 year old daughter was pretty scared when she saw me but is being brave and optimistic.
Dunno why im posting this here.. thats what Facebook is for .. don't wanna be a downer.. outlook is good and Im pretty insanely tough and have recovered from a lot of weird injuries.

Definitely gonna be feeling pretty pent up though, can't really properly take matters into my own hands right now even.

I have seen a few guys with flaws that they were very self conscious of, and fact is, THEY WERE MORE WORRIED ABOUT IT THAN I WAS!! I am a firm believer that beauty is in the eye of its beholder, and the kindest sweetest gentlemen are not always the best looking, so to some that doesn't matter. That's why it's good (when hobbying) to find someone intuitive, mature, and caring because those will be the ones to look past that and care for you just the way you are!

Please, I beg you, be grateful for your family who will always be there for you and love you just they way you are.

PaganGuy,

Im so sorry to hear that and I do hope you feel better and fully recover soon. Sincerely.

I have actually had this exact situation arise before. And due to discretion I will just say this: I continue to be great friends with my friend who has experienced the same and he is not only incredibly sweet he is also VERY handsome despite the scarring. That only ads to his character and I have always seen HIM and his scars do not matter. A person would have to be very shallow to think that would even be an issue. But everyone is different and that is just the way I think personally. Good Luck to you! XOXOXO God Bless!

Sorry to hear of your accident. It's unfortunate that it happened. Hope the healing process keeps you in good spirits.
Keep in mind that cuts, bruises, scars are just a reflection of what one endured. They don't define the person.

I had the honor of meeting & spending time with a young 40 something y/o hobbyist who
had lost a limb (had a hook for an arm/hand) and was badly scared.
I didn't see the scars nor the arm hook. I saw & enjoyed a wonderful man.
His disfigurement didn't define who he was. And hopefully you don't allow it to define you nor change who you are.

Wishing you a comfortable & speedy recovery.

Prognosis looking real good on the facial burns.. may not have any permenant noticable scars.. b eard growing back in which is a good sign. Biggest concern is still my lips but they assure me the skin under the scabs is healthy. Wont be self conscious about my arm.. im not a tat person, never had the time, money, and inclination all at the same time.. or ironically the 'vanity' to concern myself with adorning my outward shell.. but thinking about some visual declaration of 'that which doesnt kill me makes me stronger'

Hey PG! I dunno about the others but I always thought that chicks dig scars! I know I do! I have a very close friend who has been through a very serious burn incident (over 1/2 his body incl face) and I don't even notice them. Doesn't faze me one damn bit! I think it makes him distiguished from the rest of us. Some people look at him and judge him but he just says "F 'em baby"!

I hope and pray that you get better and I too have a few scars. Did 5 combat tours been injured 3 different times on my 1st 3rd and my last 5th deployment. Funny how it skipped every other deployment.. Lol. This last one I lost my foot and ankle but I still press on and love life. Chicks did scars remember that. Lol
