All of these are good ideas. Like Eva said, you can try to back off and prevent the finish, but it doesn't always work.
MSOG is my obvious first choice, but not everyone can do that. So a nice massage and foot rub is a good idea.

Yes it is difficult. Various reasons for early pops. Mine is mental I know. Anxiety is not easily overcome. And I've gone the doctor route and took meds. Helped a little but wasn't worth it to me.
Tried the start and stop method. Disrupted the routine to the point junior went back in hiding. That brings on a new level of anxiety....
