And THAT is very likely where the complaints came from that got it shut down. License plates mean nothing. There were about 6 different businesses sharing a parking lot. Anyone parked there could be using any of those other businesses. However, you are not the first person to say they came out of JJ's to find a bunch of self-riteous bible belt coastal ladies exercising in the parking lot. If I am not mistaken - they have a comfortable space for that indoors that they make lease payments on. All that going outside business was their way of saying they don't like JJ's and they are watching. All that being said, a lot of women blocking moving vehicles in a parking lot (inappropriate place for an exercise class) is a public safety hazard. I never had this problem when I came out of JJ's but if I had - I would be inclined to report THEM for the public safety hazard they are causing by exercising in a parking lot which, BTW, they have no legal right to use for that purpose. Yep, my bet is that whoever the lady was that ran the exercise studio who tried to block JJ's visitors cars is also who stirred up the trouble than eventually led to JJ's closing.
