Marilyn was a dancer once too, wasn't she? I seem to recall her mentioning it during one of our visits. If so that completely blows the theory that strippers can't make fantastic providers. I think it has a lot more to do with the individual's basic attitude toward customer service, and how much they enjoy sex vs teasing. Damn shame she had to retire early. She could easily have become the stuff of Legends.

I agree with Lakecat the best providers I've seen are ones that just realized they really love sex and can make a decent wage doing it. That mindset would carry to strippers as well. If they're doing this because they like sex, men and money, then they tend to be good at it. If they only like the money, then not so much.

I think the biggest transitions I've seen are that strippers are used to being the focus of attention as opposed to the client. And they're not usually well-versed in managing the business aspects of it. They're used to showing up at a certain time and waiting for the business to come to them and not working to keep the phones ringing.

And, yes, MP was as stripper...with Allie. And SG. I don't think anyone said strippers can't become good providers. As FireSerpent said (and I agree), some of the best I've seen were strippers and some of the worst I've seen (or chose not to see) were strippers too.

Strip clubs: I am not attracted to them at all because it seems obvious that the girls have to protect themselves from the intrusions of a few jerks. Most are just not personal with the clients, and I can't blame them. For me, I like to get to know what is in a person's head; it helps me from getting ripped off. Other girls that I introduced to this lifestyle had a hard time transitioning and ended up burning out early.
When I danced, I got to know a lot of the customers personally and would sit and chat with them for hours without making any money off of them. But then again, I also danced for social interaction since it was a bar and all of my friends worked there. I have always loved meeting new people and for some reason I like to do that while wearing the least amount of clothes! LOL.

Generally if you go to Las Vegas to win money you will be disappointed.

If you go to a Strip Club to get laid you will be disappointed.

where i come from ALL the strippers hook.thats why they are there. many small towns in iowa,minnestoa, and south dakota its as common as an old shoe. i have ran into strippers from kansas city that go to south dakota for the opening week of pheasant season to strip and hook. same with minneapolis, many of the girls that work in the strip clubs come to sd to do both.

MP was definitely an exception, took to this like a fish to water, wasn't anywhere near burnout (more like afterburners full on) - yet went from an exponential (and well-earned) rise in popularity to permanent retirement within a matter of days, after only six months as a provider. A true mystery.
