If CC tried to selective enforce bumping , he'd get called out for doing so. JC is being consistent. Each side should police their own. Until those on the right get on to LL and Iffy and say ''enough boy'', then it hardly fair to complain about 'mass bumping'.

Correct....this is the first I can recall of bumping issues. In the past we had no one stupid enough to bump their own damn threads for the mere fact of keeping them on the front page.
For some strange reason these gents on the right seem to think a little bumping is good (if done by their side) but a lot of bumping is bad (if done by the other side).

Bumping an old thread with updated info is not a problem.
Keeping an old thread alive with regular updates is not a problem. CJohnny's -- in all of his incarnations -- bumping his threads was annoying but tolerable up to four. Six at a time, IMO, was too many, but I ignored them.
But bumping twenty to thirty ancient threads that have no contemporary relevance for the sole purpose of displacing what appears on the first page in this forum is a problem, and that is where CC drew the line.

Ooops, my bad! The link in my OP, based on a search of the word "bump", doesn't work anymore. So here are the individual posts in question... 28 identical spam posts, added to 28 different threads, within a period of 24 minutes from 10:02am to 10:26am on 9/7/17.

The bump rule out on the open board is applied to the reviews, not the threads. You can bump old threads anywhere on this site if you want to. The problem out there though is that if you have nothing new to add to the topic of the old thread you can run the risk of getting hit with thread hijacking.
There is no thread hijack rule in here. Bumping an old thread or continuing to bump current ones is not a pointable offense in this forum.
Also, therock18 was banned for an entirely different reason. Had nothing to do with thread bumping.
