Maybe you should do some actual research. ISP's can not block websites. At best they could sell what's called a fast lane, or have tiered levels of importance. Same theory as driving home on the Katy freeway. You can take the congested free part, or the faster tollway.

Say you stream Hulu, Netflix, or have a Plex account. If they allowed fast loaning you could pay a little extra and guarantee those particular services never slow down. Think about it. Instead of downgrade to 720p at 8pm while you're eating you microwave lasagna cause the neighbors doing SnapChat, you can enjoy it at 4K all day with now worries. Isn't that why you bought that 50inch TV? To watch in 4K not 720p.

No it wasn't. The original concept days back to 2004 and FCC chairman Michael Powell.
Dude don't make me get rude with you. All you've offered up is more wallowing in the mud..a typical rabid Republican response to a real issue.

Now to address your POV. I do not watch CNN and furthermore I've done my research...throttling internet speeds (which I addressed in my OP) vis-à-vis slowing down your connection is part of the dismantling of Net N and interfering negatively with your service. In fact anyone on the side of ISP's (such as YOU) during this time I do not trust nor would I recommend anyone believe a gotdam word that comes out of your mouth regarding this subject.

Why would I want to pay more for a service I'm already getting. All you're doing is spinning, pivoting, and trying to sell false positives. Every reasonable person knows the full ramifications of rescinding Net Neutrality laws now and into the future...Once the flood gates of banning content fully open up and exposed for all to see...then all the false positive bullshit you're trying to sell to those who may be uneducated on this topic will have been exposed. The Republicans are fucking up admit and go sit your ass down and stop trying to spin this into some positive light of which it is not.

Once rescinded they will Ban content, applications, websites, etc. and bottleneck any items they disagree with but hesitate to outright ban due to pressure from competitors. Again I think you are suspect based on the notion you can legit sit here and shill for an ISP just to protect Republicans...I despise people that think like you...get the fuck outta my thread with that fake bullshit.

PS: The reason ISP's can't block sites NOW (relatively speaking) is because of what? Say it with me..Net Neutrality laws..Once Net N is rescinded they can block whatever they wish. ;-)

I don't think you will notice a difference either way. Quit listening to all those "the sky is falling" reports. Its mostly government propaganda and huge corporations with a financial stake in the outcome. The issue is so convoluted now its impossible to predict the outcome - so don't be so smug.

So now yall wanna ignore "constitutional freedoms" now that Republicans are fucking up massively....bunch of fucking hypocrites I tell ya..this shit is ridiculous. We know where this going...it's the very reason they're fighting so hard to disband Net N...with Net Neutrality none of the great trend setters would have thrived...Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram etc. Business need unbridled platforms to promote and advertise thir business...free from personal, religious, or competitive biases.

You have an issue with the internet. Take this nationally so more people can laugh at you. And I can bring a bigger bag of popcorn.

Why would you want to get rude with me? I think you are reading my statement with an already biased tone just because I offer an opposing opinion.

Also if you have done your research as you claim then you would already understand that even under Net Neutrality ISP already legally throttle your service.

For example your home internet bill. Whether its DSL or cable it goes like this. Say you pay $75 a month. That covers the lease on your modem. You could buy your own and it'll drop to $70 a month. Then in your plan it say access for X amount of devices at Y speed.

Now look at the next most expensive plan. Usually it says you pay $100 and get access for X+3 devices at Y+8Mbs speed.

In other words your plan is already throttled compared to the next tiered plan. And that is legal under Net Neutrality.

1. I have already proven your willingness to pay more for a service you are already getting.

2. There are already laws that prevent banning content before Net Neutrality was even a concept.

I'm not sure why you lost your cool here. I just presented you with established doctrine. At best Net Neutrality is an answer to a question that was already solved.

This is Net Neutrality. You buy a car. You pay for registration. You pay for inspection. But now you have to take it to a local police station. Present them with a bill of sale and have them inspect it to make sure it passes municipal code. Vehicle ownership and vehicle reliability is already established. You do not need further regulation to bog down the system.

Nope your giving the Republican get out of jail free card straight out of the Sean Hannity playbook if I might add.

Also if you have done your research as you claim then you would already understand that even under Net Neutrality ISP already legally throttle your service.

Yes I've done my research....but again based on what criteria? Let me help you keep things in context. We're talking Service throttling (a slowing down) based on content bias not based on factors / package plans (where you live, budget, technology, etc) Do you understand the difference? No? Service level options have been and will always be around due to improving technologies (57k modem vs. T1) and capitalism. So you can't mix apples and oranges in this discussion. In fact a good example of coverage area and options...(selling packages) is Verizon spending over $20 billion on FIOS and only wiring upscale suburbs of the Northeast and LA.

For example your home internet bill. Whether its DSL or cable it goes like this. Say you pay $75 a month. That covers the lease on your modem. You could buy your own and it'll drop to $70 a month. Then in your plan it say access for X amount of devices at Y speed.

In other words your plan is already throttled compared to the next tiered plan. And that is legal under Net Neutrality.

You're saying a lot but saying nothing at all...because you're lacking a basic understanding of the ramifications. Again as I stated earlier...we're talking legal discrimination and Content BIAS such as this site. You're talking service options and plans based on external factors such as technology availability in certain areas or what a person is willing to spend. That is a separate discussion not related to the ramifications of the rescinding of Net Neutrality as currently constructed.

1. I have already proven your willingness to pay more for a service you are already getting.

Not for me you haven't. What you've proven is that with a change in service options a person may be willing to pay more or less but not for the same service. In your example you clearly outlined a change in services / plans based on speed or total devices. You're not even keeping up with your own argument.

2. There are already laws that prevent banning content before Net Neutrality was even a concept.

Maybe but we're talking Net Neutrality as whatever law your referring to didn't stop NN from becoming the "new" standard if you will
.

I'm not sure why you lost your cool here. I just presented you with established doctrine. At best Net Neutrality is an answer to a question that was already solved.

I did lose my cool because I get tired of the convenience of Republican hypocrisy when it fits their agenda while at the same time being perplexed as to why poor Republican voters constantly fight against their own interest.

^ to be honest that's a Horrible analogy. Again you're presenting people with a false positive. Once the internet of things is established and you pay for your agreed upon service there is no need for ISP's to then change service based on their Biases, Market Domination, Religious or social pressure preferences. There needs to be regulation to protect against this. They're trying to change the rules to establish new norms. Businesses have control over the people they employ, the Government have Control over Businesses while "We The People" need to oversee the government. Everyone has someone to answer to and it's unfortunate Republicans want everyone to answer to someone except Big Business and that's why yall must be stopped.

If you have nothing valuable to add of your own intellect then please either go play in traffic this morning or put your hands in the sink disposal....either one should do the trick. ;-) my friend. ;-)

As it pertains to the hobby, the myth of network neutrality means . . .

This is a waste of time.

Not true. You my friend peddle in falsehoods, misconceptions, misunderstandings, wrong impression of expressions. I consider myself a happy angry black man if that makes sense. I may have some repressed anger issues over societal norms but I am also very happy and content to an extent as no one is ever truly happy... I've lived a good life as an adult relatively speaking...and at this point can travel anywhere and do anything (within reason) that I want to..I can socilize with celebrities but that's usually because I can pay for access..not because I know them personally...I have access to beautiful real world free pussy and so I'm not really tripping... when I fight for the cause I'm doing it for the culture for others who've been oppressed. I've personally experienced some but very little rascism in my life...it's kinda skated by me...but I'm still smart enough to realize that just because rascism didnt drop a bomb on my head like its done others doesnt mean I'm imumune from it...you folks remind me of that every day. ;-) because you're (seemingly) not smart enough to discuss legit topics you relegate it to SC being either racist or political. You shouldn't insult yourself that way..you're better than that. If you know nothing of the topic all you have to do is say so. Dont wallow in ignorance my friend.
