I have never really minded Cage's avatar, not an issue, kinda hot in a random way, even though I am not interested in dick pics.

But others have been a bit gross; too much, too sexual or otherwise. Since we do read into profiles and personalities, going by what we see online first, in our assessment, yes, it can affect how many good or bad things we perceive, by what you have picked to show the world every time you post, as part of your identity. First impressions count, especially if we are on the fence about you in other regards.

My first avatar was one I used for years on a porn sharing BBS (back when porn was shared on VHS tapes). It was a sex shot from below, and the wrinkles in the guy's ball sack looked like a smiley face. Uhmmm...I don’t think it’s an original avatar. But is one that I scroll past very quickly, lol! Without reading the comments.

I saw a provider with the exact same downloaded avatar last year. I’m not sure, but she may have been encouraged to change it by other providers. I can’t remember the deets. But I definitely have seen that “shot” before.

First impressions are important. The avatar is representative of the poster’s personality, of course.
