What does that article indicate? My take on it is they are going to be looking for things involving "trafficking". Maybe that's the spa owners, the amp owners, the pimps, maybe even people who book and screen for others. How do they find and locate pimps? By busting hookers and offering them something to flip. Are there legal ramifications for visiting a spa or amp as a client if it turns out a worker was "trafficked"? I don't really have a clue.

Sites like this I would think are outside of a city's jurisdiction and would stay with the feds who I'm sure are already looking at it. No doubt some smaller fish will get caught up in this "new approach"
As Gabriela says, continue to screen (both escorts and clients should do their screening), and do your research. Ladies run the risk of being "saved" by their friendly government if not careful. Here is some information from Dallas City Hall about the New Dallas Vice Unit and some of their targets. I had a feeling that law enforcement was gearing up to act.

They will be targeting Escort Services, Street Level Prostitution, High Complaint Areas, Human Trafficking Joint Operations with Federal and State Agencies, Gambling, Conducting Undercover Operations.

Street walkers and NW Dallas AMP’s if those are your stopping grounds tread lightly. Those are both easy kills for some press time. Independent’s have far less to worry about.

Most of the ladies on this site work to support themselves and their kids. Some are managed and may or may not be treated well. A few might be trafficed.


There may be 3000 ladies in Dallas working in the sex business. The ladies in the lower 1/3 of the group are the ones they need to be concerned abut trafficing and they may be street walkers and similar girls.


A woman can't support herself and her child off a $14 an hour with a job with no benefits. If the ladies here are lucky they find a boyfriend and get into a LTR.

I don't see how that follows. Unless she hooks up with a millionaire, or at least a hundred-thousandaire, she's not gonna replace the income from this job. And since the average income is 30k to 50k, depending on whether you calculate median or mean average, the odds are very much against it.
