The only reason this verdict is "shocking" is that the news media convicted her long ago based on inadmissible and suggestive remarks and opinions, built on inadmissible and suggestive remarks and opinions.
Had the media not hyped this one, we would not even have a thread on the verdict.
Now lets see what the Judge does with the four counts:
stack them ... which means he thinks she should have been convicted of murder
or
run them concurrently, which means he thinks the jury had it about right....
either way with "time served" she walks if she gets "good time" credit of 3 for 2.

I find it more than disturbing that men and women both can abuse, neglect, and even cause death to the elderly and their own children, and be acquitted for their actions!! I don't care what "light" is shed on the subject... common sense says that if your kid went missing you call the police immedietly. The fact that she partied, and lied about where the kid was, immedietly after is enough to raise a red flag!!.... AND.. on another note....Can you imagine how much neglect and abuse could be spared, if the time, energy, and money were spent in different budgets and divisions across the US? Take a chunk of that money that Vice has and assign it to CPS division!!! You never hear of Vice being overworked, or too many cases to look the other way, or take a hooktard down town. But more times than not many children are abused and neglected to the point of death, and you find that CPS had visited the home previously! SAD!

Yep, and the only reason the media was drooling all over this one is that dough-assed, frustrated housewives all over the country love to guiltlessly live out their inner-fantasy of killing their own kids.
LRR got it right. I'd rather a guilty person get away with it, than wrongly convict and punish an innocent one.

All circumstantial. It was incumbent on the prosecution to provide proof that she committed the murder. They failed to do that.

Beyond a reasonable doubt, a jury of twelve, all must agree.
Too many people get their opinions from Greta van Susteren, Wolf Blitzer, etc. Too many people base their opinions on their gut feeling or how they feel about a certain subject. Gut feelings should never put a person behind bars.
Our local TV news channels all have a lawyer to give us the scoop.
At the end of the day, the only scoop that matters is what the jury has.
The sad thing is that there may never be closure on the death of the baby.

Last I heard 40% of US murders go UNSOLVED. That's not UNCONVICTED that means not closed.

She won't have to "work" ... she just won the Lotto.
What the LIBERAL (anti-death penalty) media hounds aren't telling you is that there are plenty of offers of "assistance" and "support" pre-verdict and post-verdict. Remember she already got a $200,000 downpayment on the "rights" to her "story" while sitting in jail. Now they know the ending! Why do you think all the civil suits are cranking up now .... $$ .... big money.
Tune in on the 13th to see if there are any "photo ops" of her walking out.

No doubt she'll get plenty of money. On a positive note it will probably shorten the amout of time it takes before she gets into trouble with johnny law.
