That was their bag in their eyes, even though there's no obligation for you to stick with one, to them, the money was already theirs. So yeah they get pissed, it's hard to be cordial when you feel like someone has fucked with your money. Now I think that's more anger/frustration than jealousy but sometimes a little bit of affection sneaks it's way into even the most transactional interactions. Not a perfect example but, it's a good baseline.
