Trump never wanted to defund the military, to the contrary, he wanted to strengthen it but saw things in the bill he objected to which is the responsibility of a President, to hold the Legislative body to account. But in this case, it was a stupid act.



Vetoing the bill was one more in a long list of stupid things Trump did especially tying it to Confederate named bases and his fight with Tech. giants and their reporting or lack there of in this case, but make no mistake, it had nothing to do with not wanting a strong military.

Yea, but we can defund the military and still have the strongest military in the world.

The military creates jobs, is a pretty descent career path for many Americans and we do have enemies in the world who would like to destroy us, but I wouldn't be opposed to maybe cooling down the military spending just a tad bit.

The reason Trump vetoed the bill is because he wanted to force Congress to insert a provision into it that would allow lawyers to sue social media companies for what users post. In other words, you start posting something like Biden's taking billions from the Chinese on eccie.net, and Biden and the lawyers can sue eccie for the content you posted. Trump wants to make this happen. It's chicken shit.
