Really good movie I watched last night about Lincoln staring Daniel day Lewis. It focused on how Lincoln got the 13th Amendment ending slavery passed with 2 votes just weeks before the end of the war.

The back story was how it was thought that Lincoln could only chose peace with the rebels or put the amendment up for a vote because the sentiment was that if he could get peace, the amendment wouldn't be needed since many thought that the amendment if passed would force the south to stop fighting which was more important to many than ending slavery, and if they stopped, there would be no need or any want to outlaw slavery.


Fascinating look at how the House of Representatives fought over the amendment.

I don't even remember reading Dr Seuss. First book I remember was Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer. Then The Godfather....and a bunch of Steven King.
