Man, I don't know how it works in Pennsylvania, but it Texas the clinics and pharmacies aren't trading records. Anyone who wants a "booster" can get one, just by going to a different pharmacy or clinic from where he got his first two shots. It's easy peasy. Or that's what friends tell me. I'd never do anything before the CDC and Dr. Fauci recommended it.

A few things to keep in mind if you're planning to jump the gun and get a booster now.

The CDC will recommend you stick with the same vaccine. If you got two Pfizer shots initially, they want you to get a Pfizer booster. Same for Moderna. They will not be approving a J&J booster anytime soon, although they almost certainly will approve one at some point.

I believe the Pfizer booster will be identical to the original Pfizer injections, that is there's been no change in the formulation or dose.

Moderna is pushing to drop the booster dose to 50 mcg, from the 100 mcg dose for the initial injections. Some in the government are pushing for 100 mcg, as they think that will provide more lasting immunity. So you'll have to decide, do you trust Moderna or the United States Government? That would be an easy call for me, Moderna, so I might wait for the 50 mcg dose.

It's possible you could benefit and get a stronger immune response by mixing and matching, although the CDC's not going to recommend that. Some European countries are following up the Astra Zeneca vaccine, which is similar to the J&J vaccine, with a Pfizer booster.

If you want to be a human guinea pig, then don't write off the J&J vaccine, if you took Pfizer or Moderna for your initial doses. J&J may offer more durable immunity than Pfizer, and stronger T cell immunity than both the mRNA vaccines.

If you got your original doses at a particular clinic or drug store, do not be a putz and go back to the same place. Go to a different pharmacy that hopefully does not have a record of your initial injections.

You may be asked by the pharmacy or clinic if you were previously vaccinated, in which case you must be prepared to (a) tell them the truth in which case they may tell you to come back after September 20 or call the police and have you thrown in jail, (b) lie and tell them you haven't been vaccinated, (c) lie and tell them your doctor recommended you get the vaccination because you are immunocompromised. You may be asked to supply insurance information. You can lie and say you don't have insurance and they will still give you the vaccination for free, although there may be hell to pay if the U.S. government finds out because it will be picking up the tab. I would strongly recommend you do not lie because it is against the principles of the Church of Tiny.

And most importantly, don't take medical advice from some bozo posting on a hooker board.
