Funny how the left moves the goal posts from no fraud or mismanagement to saying $71.8 billion in wrongful payments isn't that much. ANY wrongful payments are too much. Fire these incompetent people who can't even manage to update files and replace them with competent employees. More and more fraud uncovered by the day.

First off, show that it's fraud and not mismanagement.

If it's fraud, prosecute someone.

If it's mismanagement, replace someone.

Also address how much of that was recovered and the cost of recovery. If we want things to run like a business, determine the amount of acceptable shrink/loss. If you expect that to be zero then I hope to God your cost of recovery is minimal.

No moving of goalposts...at least if based on the original post in this thread.

I didn't realize this but there are a lot of very old people in this country collecting social security. People are living up to 159 years old. Really! Who is collecting this money? DOGE is kicking you know what.
Are there mistakes in Social Security Administration? YES. Humans make mistakes (to err is human, to really muck it up takes a machine)

Are there some waste/mismanagement? YES, I'm sure there's some.

Are there "tens of millions" of 150 year olds collecting Social Security?
NOPE

While hospitals and funeral directors often report deaths to the Social Security Administration (SSA), it's the responsibility of the deceased's family or legal representative to ensure the SSA is notified and to apply for any potential survivor benefits.

https://www.ssa.gov/personal-record/...r%20languages.

Funeral homes generally tell us when someone dies. So, you don’t typically need to report a death to us.

If a funeral home isn’t involved or doesn't report the death for some reason, you should call us and provide the name, Social Security number, date of birth, and date of death for the person who died.

Texas requirements

When my dad died, SS knew and reached into his bank account and took back the money they gave him at the first of the month.

No hospital, probably the coroner I'm guessing. SS knew, the Navy (retirement) knew. That's why I don't understand all these payments going out for dead people.

Convince me that people at Soc Sec didn't know? Never checked? Refused to even look at simple stuff? I was born at night, but it wasn't last night.

I want to see some perp walks, in cuffs.

A few billion in “minor discrepancies here”, a few billion in “minor discrepancies there”, next thing you know, we are talking about a lot of money.

If those minor discrepancies are small overpayments... yeah they can add up. Especially over 8 years.

But show the fraud. Don't just claim fraud

I think every ECCIE member that voted for Elon and receives SS (which is a shit ton!) should support having their payments frozen by his Gameboys while they audit the ENTIRE system and root out every trace of fraud and mismanagement. Every damn bit. How long could it take? And you trust them, right?

Wake TF up. Overall, the SSA does a pretty decent job considering the massive size of it. Not perfect. But not bad. Be realistic about it. If you let DOGE get into this system big time, they will not make it better.

Well, that will certainly help curb inflation and solve government inefficiency with SS if there is any chance in hell that actually happens in fantasy MAGA land, but I live in the real world and that's just another smoke screen bunch of bullshit from President Musk and his bitch boy Trump.

Winning! LOL

It is amazing how Super Don and Uncle Elon live rent free is so many people’s head. They are bailing us out of bankruptcy. Uncle Adam Schiff had to be pardoned to keep his rotten ass out of jail. lol. He is squealing like a pig. The pigs squeal when you cut the fat. Russia Russia Russsia, remember his lying ass?

Under Sleepy Joe Biden, Congress gave a whopping $1 billion to @CDCgov for a PR campaign to promote COVID shots. Which private companies (social media platforms, TV networks, advertising agencies, celebrities?) received this money? How much money still being spent on this ? What a disaster

Are the 'rightists' going to send their checks back because they believe so strongly in reducing govt spending, the deficit paying off the $38TT or so of debt?

The whole 'DOGE savings check' idea is foolish...and goes counter to the stated mission of DOGE.

Never mind the current overstatements of 'DOGE savings'.

But it makes a good sound bite. sigh...

Trumpys take gullible to another level. Trump tells them to eat shit with ketchup, they'll gobble that shit down happily. It's clear that Elon's lil minions didn't really understand what they were looking at or what the real amount of overpayments were. And they didn't show proof of any 150 years ago olds that were actually getting paid. Trumpys love a nonfactual sound bite to just keep repeating because they have no critical thinking skills. Lord knows anyone reading the righties and Trumpys in this forum know well that those are the folks that live fact free.

Maybe you could say something else the next time you troll one of my posts. Just a thought. This is getting kind of old. Then again....if you really got NUTHIN to say in response, well, I can understand the frustration.
