Trump looks like the adult here. Zelensky the dictator (who suspended elections, that makes him a dictator by the left's own definition) got told NO, and then threw his usual hissy fit. Zelensky is the one at fault for this war continuing. HE refused any deal. Zelensky looks very weak now. Can't even dress appropriately for a meeting with the President.

Trump is trying to cut deal that will save lives. Ukrainian and Russian lives. Anyone have a problem with that goal?

If Russia does not pull out of their own accord to the 2022 or 2014 borders what do you armchair generals want to do?

Putin has said that he does not want Ukraine in NATO because he fears NATO. Ukraine lobbied to come into NATO and Putin saw that as a provocation. Add the fact that Biden bringing everyone into NATO including Hunter.

We don't know what was worked out because these things are agreed on ahead of time but Zelensky had to show his ass. This was not Pennsylvania during the election, this was the Oval Office with the winner of the election.

Trump was promoting a US interest in the rare earth minerals that we do need for defense. At a discount which is good for us. Ukraine would get a profitable new sector industry to help rebuild their country. Having Americans in the country is a trip wire to Putin and his ambitions.

Like it or not, Putin paid for that territory with blood and treasure. He can't just give it all up. He can give up strategically unimportant territory. Remember, as it stands Putin has won. His troops stand on the ground.

This is a chance to end the war and the killing. If you want that goal then you have to give Trump his chance. They used to say that politics ends at the waters edge. Meaning only one person speaks for the USA. That ended in 2001. The democrats were all onboard going after the Taliban but within six months they were sniping at Bush like an Islamic terrorist.

The minerals deal is a red herring because the proven reserves, value, access is already suspect and overly bullish. And Trump's messaging about it has been terrible. He's got 2 left feet in this dance and won't be in power when we realize he was overly bullish

If he really wants peace, he'd drop his own fake alpha posturing and work with our allies to give Ukraine the security assurances it needs, even if they lose some territory.

Zelensky is still demanding more security, this will come from the Europeans.

President Trump is playing this beautifully. He will get the mineral rights deal, and have Western Troops guaranteeing Ukraines security.

But it WILL NOT be American Troops.
