Harshest are still on China. The tariffs are on top of existing tariffs and there's more on China and in more categories.

Let's remember, he backed off Mexico and Canada tariffs. He only backed off the drop shipper exception. So those went into effect and these ones were on top.

And he wants Mexico and Canada to match his tariffs on China.

Various Canadian provinces have kept American spirits off their shelves despite Trump's pause.

So despite the pause the non-tariff responses remain.

Less Canadian tourism to the U.S. A strong "Buy Canadian" campaign underway. Rebranding Cafe Americano.

Various Musk targeted boycotts

This is dumb. Trump could have avoided all this with phone calls.

You're right on that and Winn Dixie and I are wrong. Still, if you think the USA and China are in a new cold war (and I hope they aren't), the tariffs that were supposed to go into effect on Canada and Mexico make even less sense.

Ontario is placing a 25% tariff on electricity exports sold to Michigan, New York and Minnesota. Maybe the Canadians could do something similar with potash, natural gas, lumber etc. In the short term, certain auto parts. Anything that the USA would have trouble replacing from non-Canadian suppliers.

China is definitely playing a longer term game than most politicians in the United States are even thinking about.

Remember my dad telling me that Canada helped us out during the depression. At least where he was from. They didn't have to be nice to us.

Look how we repay them.
