Now the 1930s German version (yes, Mussolini, Franco and other fascists had their own version) had the person come to attention and thrust their right hand out at about a 45 degree angle with the palm down and fingers tightly together. Nationalism by itself is pretty harmless. Like your right to throw a punch. You can until you make contact with someone's nose. You can love your country, you can look down on other countries but with if you take ACTION then you cross a line.

The left consider themselves to be internationalists or globalists. In their fever dreams they thirst after a one world government. A government without opposition. A government than can make all good things be happen or else. Scratch a progressive and find a totalitarian.

I can't speak for other Dumbcrimocraps (or whatever name y'all are calling the dirt bag sinister leftist today), but I don't know too many left leaning Americans who actually believe that way either.
