If they are here illegally they should never have a pathway to citizenship. There was never a cry about due process under any other president but now because it is Trump you want to clog up the deportation process so much that hardly anyone would ever be deported.

Immigration reform is certainly needed but that shouldn't mean that all illegals here get a free pass.

What a stupid thing to say. Before Trump and Stephen Miller Immigrants both legal and illegal received due process. I’m not going to argue that all immigrants should get a free pass but the Trump administration’s hard line is going to do more harm than good.

A hard line is what we need after 4 years of open borders. Only time will tell if it does more harm than good. It certainly can't do nearly as much harm as Bidens policy.

If i was a whiny little bitch (you know who you are) like so many here i would report your "stupid" comment to the mods. But unlike so many here i don't give a fuck what you say about me or my veiw points.

You don't know much about immigration, that is obvious. First they have to be on American soil to seek asylum. You can't seek asylum from Mexico or Venezula or wherever. They are undocumented, no ssn, or green card, they aren't illegal.

Maybe there was no cry about due process because other Presidents followed the process. Trump doesn't give a fuck except appeasing his magats. Every one of those ICE deportations are gonna cost 10s of thousands in legal and payouts.

Biden deported way more than trump term for term.

That's the telling story.

Trump and his Merry Band of MAGAs have screamed and yelled about murderers, mentally ill, etc., since the first day any of y'all could get all frothy about it.

So why did Biden and Obama out deport him by YUGE numbers?

Seems like this was never a real threat, just great showmanship. Kinda like gay marriage was for Bush II.

They need to get the fuck out on their own or accept whatever deportation the Trump administration orders.

The first highlighted sentence is bullshit. They don't have to "accept" whatever Trump wants to do to them. The whole idea of sending them to a shithole like Sudan is fucking insane and inhumane.

The second highlighted sentence is flat out not true. That has been discussed here before. Obama, especially, got a shit ton of heat for his denial of due process. As for why Trump gets more shit...his tactics are over the top. Masked agents refusing to show ID, acting like 3rd World gangs. Abductions off of the street. He is just playing to the populist rage that he has milked so successfully. But with people's lives.

And the last sentence...no one here has said anything like that. No one has said that ALL immigrants should get a free pass.

As for what we should "do with them"....that IS a valid question. As you said, reform is needed. And imprisoning some may even be necessary. But sending them to a place like Sudan...absurdly inhumane.

Most of Obamas's, and Biden's also, deportations were at the border using expedited removal processes. Different economic and political climate then also during Obama's time. Obama's time was still considered post 9/11, things have laxed a little over the last 10 years. However we are still a way more secure country compared to Pre 9/11.

And there is absolutely nothing free in getting citizenship. 10-20k in legal fees.

How lucky am I to be corrected TWICE in the same thread? Though not rationally in this case.

But...Yeah. "Arrested." Like they "arrested" people in Guatemala in the 1970's. Masked agents, refusing to show ID, forcing people into unmarked vehicles.

There is no reason for our government to act in these ways. As I said above, they are just playing to the populist rage that they have brought to a fever pitch.

And it would be fascinating to see how you felt if one day you were determined to be a "criminal" and treated like this. Especially if you didn't really meet any credible definition of actually being a criminal.

How predictable that you would defend this. Especially since I spoke out against it.

You've been played. So much so that you don't even understand it any more.

More than Trump did, term for term. What Biden contended with is Economic and pandemic push for migration. Trump had title 42 in his favor due to the Pandemic, but that ended as the Covid threat weakend and the courts ruled that it couldn't be continued. Biden follows court orders unlike dumbfucktard trump.

10-12 million is a bullshit made up number that most likely includes encounters. All encounters don't equate to someone staying in the US. A single person can also create more than one encounter.

Immigration is way too complex for magaminds, do some actual research and reading instead of listening to trump's bullshit.

This government should not run by litigation.

And the footage of masked, armed "agents" in street clothes is reminiscent of another place and another time. Don't deny it. It's happening before our eyes.

Fact check: Pelosi says fewer migrants came in under Biden than Trump

Garcia-Navarro said millions of people crossed the U.S. border under President Joe Biden’s administration. Pelosi said, "I don’t think we were clear enough by saying fewer people came in under President Biden than came under Donald Trump."

Illegal immigration under Biden has dropped significantly in the past four months, reaching levels lower than President-elect Donald Trump’s last few months in office. But it’s wrong to say illegal immigration, which reached historic highs under Biden, is lower overall than it was during Trump’s first term.

From February 2021, Biden’s first full month in office, to September 2024, the latest month with data, U.S. Border Patrol agents encountered migrants trying to illegally cross U.S. borders between ports of entry 7.2 million times.

Under Trump’s administration, from February 2017 to January 2021, Border Patrol encountered immigrants between ports of entry 1.8 million times.

The encounters data does not represent how many people were let into the U.S; there’s no specific data for that. But according to federal data, Customs and Border Protection released about 313,000 people under Trump’s administration and about 3.6 million people under Biden’s administration, to await court hearings. (Biden’s data includes people given humanitarian parole, a legal authorization to live and work in the U.S. for up to two years.)

Based on the available data, fewer people did not come to the U.S. under Biden than under Trump, as Pelosi claimed.

Biden let in millions. fact.
