There is a difference between a political party that boycotts a tv network and using a government agency to threaten a media network.
You’ll also note that the Fox network wasn’t threatened or hurt by anyone in the Biden administration.
if you say so
For years, Democrats have been deeply conflicted about Fox News. At times, they’ve shunned the network as an irredeemable source of disinformation, boycotting it or banning it from covering Democratic presidential primary debates. But such efforts have been temporary: They have tended to resume appearing on the network and have reverted to treating it as more or less a news channel, albeit a hostile one.
Democratic National Committee rejects Fox News for debates, citing New Yorker article
The Democratic National Committee has decided to exclude Fox News Channel from televising any of its candidate debates during the 2019-2020 cycle as a result of published revelations detailing the cable network’s close ties to the Trump administration.
In a statement Wednesday, DNC Chairman Tom Perez cited a story in the New Yorker magazine this week that detailed how Fox has promoted President Trump’s agenda. The article, titled “The Making of the Fox News White House,” suggested that the news network had become a “propaganda” vehicle for Trump.
We have this thread that claims that the Obama administration 'cancelled' Rosanne Barr for this tweet in 2018.
Quote:
Valerie Jarrett looks as if the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes had a baby
Roseanne appears to agree with the who, responding to a recent Obama tweet
Quote:
Remember when you and your wife called Bob Iger to have me fired?
But not the what
Quote:
Because they aren’t the same. I wasn’t fired for lying I was fired for telling the truth about the Iran deal and slandered into oblivion.
Except the Roseanne 'firing' occurred in 2018...not Obama's administration, but Trump's administration. Nor did the FCC have any involvement in the Roseanne incident.
And we have this from Bob Iger's book that was his was the final call on the 2018 cancellation of Roseanne (not 'The Conners')
“If any of our employees tweeted what she tweeted, they’d be immediately terminated.”
We have another thread here largely arguing that employers have a right and are correct to fire employees that post 'disagreeable' material.
... Blimey! ... Read about the attempted censourships.
What could have happened.

“They are arguably the most important entity of the American right and the Republican Party,” said Democratic strategist Simon Rosenberg, suggesting that The Associated Press include in its stylebook that Fox News is not a news organization. “There needs to be a serious conversation now about whether Fox can continue to be a member of the White House Correspondents Association. Keeping them there seems not to be OK.”
Yet no changes to WHCA were made.
Fast forward to 2025:
In February 2025, the Trump administration announced it would take over managing the White House press pool, which had historically been run by the WHCA for over a century.
The White House began selecting which journalists would be included in the press pool, a departure from the traditional system designed to ensure independent access. This included banning Associated Press (AP) journalists.
Leavitt invited once-fringe figures from far-right outlets into the press room to ask questions. They include reporters for the conspiracy-minded Gateway Pundit, Steve Bannon's podcast and Lindell TV, started by the MyPillow magnate Mike Lindell.
During an interview with the Atlantic David Letterman commented on censorship and the Jimmy Kimmel / Charlie Kirk situation.
David Letterman to Jeffrey Goldberg on Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension: “You can’t go around firing somebody because you’re fearful or trying to suck up to an authoritarian—a criminal—administration in the Oval Office. That’s just not how this works.”
... Yep ... Can be no doubt about it! ... Rather bleedin'
OBVIOUS that Roseanne Barr surely read our threads here
- where we mention OTHER media censourships. -
The former President OBama was out yesterday and commenting
on the fate of Jimmy Kimmel - and putting his badmouth
onto President Trump for what happened.
... And here came Roseanne today - quickly reminding
OBama of his-own misdeeds:
... "Remember when YOU and your wife called Bob Iger
to have ME fired?!" ... Roseanne KNOWS that Michellle
OBama PERSONALLY pressured ABC Executives to axe her.
As former ABC President Channing Dungey - who carried out
the firing - worked directly with the OBamas at Netflix.
See? ... OBama was front and centre in the censourship game also.
Funny how every leftist here all of a sudden is crying about "free speech" when THEY shouted down and threatened (and at times physically assaulted) conservative speakers. This had ZERO to do with free speech. And everything to do with declining ratings, massive money losses, and people sick of listening to unfunny liberal hacks.
It's funny how an Executive Order was announced to enforce free speech. Too bad it only applied to maggies.
And show us where the head of the FCC has the power to can programs on rating, money, people turning channel or the lack of hilarious rightwing comedians.

I didn't know libbys were conflicted. If anything, maybe by the news arm of the kangaroo kicker Rubert. But when you've been shown to be a blatant liar and forced to cough up nearly a billion dollars, that would definitely give ammo to shitcan a devisive media outlet that intentionally was the sound board for incentivizing a riot.
But the libbies didn't force the issue in shuttering foxy. Guess they have the mettle donny lacks.
@RX, thank you for pointing out that another pointless thread is mucking up the PS and it pisses off the maggies when I post multiple times to the same BS. ....which I didn't start. So, they should take note....NOT!
