My Grandparents fled Italy to get away from the Fascists there. What we have in the Republican Party today is as far removed from racism as it was in the 1920s and '30s.

Take a tiny challenge 69in2it69, and read this,

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antifa_(United_States)

I read most of it while on the elliptical this morning, because of your intriguing thread.

A majority of Antifa "members" are anarchists, communists and socialists, with a few social democrats, environmentalists and LGBT advocates thrown in. A majority self-describe as revolutionaries. Some "members" have adopted violence and destroyed property. And one sympathizer, Michael Reinoehl, murdered a participant in a pro-Trump rally.

So does that justify Antifa being branded a terrorist organization, as it was recently? I don't think so. Only a very small minority of "members" and cells have engaged in what you could remotely call terrorism.

My problem with them, as a former card-carrying member of the ACLU, is that their main purpose is to shut down free speech. They get in the face of people they disagree with and try to shut them up. That's not the American way. In other words, after reading the Wikipedia entry, I don't belief Antifa is anti-fascist. I believe it's anti First Amendment.

Antifa are nothing but troublemakers. Their mission provides no benefit to society.

I was wondering about this too. Trump is pushing the envelope, no surprise there. I think the reason is because once a group is branded a terrorist org, many more tools become available for the feds to crack down. Trump talks about going after their funding sources, and this makes it easier.

Based on the Wikipedia entry, I don't think NGO's like Soros' are funding Antifa. Antifa is a pretty amorphous group of people, and doesn't really need any outside funding.

Antifa members tend to live in their parents' basements and their sources of economic support are Mom, Dad and companies like Starbucks that employ them part time. If the DOJ targets them it's going to put a lot of MAGA fans in jail. And where am I going to get my Chestnut Praline Lattes if the bastards put Starbucks out of business?

Don’t you mean that the Trump administration is using this as an excuse to target left leaning organizations for investigation.

OK so who put up the money for the military quality gas masks and those pallet loads of bricks that magically appear at those mostly peaceful riots back in 2020?

A thousand Guy Faulks masks and identicle umbrellas don't make themselves either.

There has got to be more to it than just a bunch of unemployed wastrels and their iPhones.

None of the so-called right wing militias are rioting in the4 streets or threatening to kill progressive leftists.

Surely RICO laws apply.

Yes. and he was eventually slapped down for it. Under the changes brought about our new supreme court I’m not sure that would happen again.

I just think the whole label of Antifa currently is a conglomerate of anyone who's not pro-trump. Pro- GOP, Pro- Republican. Even if you were a RINO- you'd be called Antifa or communists.

Where is all the great research being done to identify those who lable themselves as Antifa as Trump is doing at his 'swastika rallys' aka press conferences. Seems a very simple label to apply to a wholistic group who isn't happy with the current state of affairs, including ICE, but the economy etc. The word Antifa is just being used to slur- Anti-Trumpism.

Nothing more - nothing less.

What's the end game?

Probably creating enough chaos and sowing enough anger in the RedHat community to support the use of national guard troops and our own military to stay in power through 2028.

That's the plan. Gin up the REDHATS to hate the "other side" despite not knowing their names, who they are, where they live, get their money etc. Geepers- we have more information on Proudboys, Montana Freeman, (fill in radical name here) groups but nothing on the mysterious Antifa. Does 4chan, or Alex Jones, or Candace Owens have the answer who it is?? The talking heads of politics don't even try to identify because they want you afraid of the boogey man. Bubbayega, or whomever the great pumpkin fart wants you to think it 'MIGHT' be. Disorganized fear is much easier to stoke control over vs. reality.

Will it work- NOPE.

It's just a distraction for the Epsteinth time.

When it came to using the levers of government to suppress the tea party movement, Obama got off scot-free. SCOTUS may have later on ruled in such a manner as to preclude it happening again, but the Obamas n ow live large with the beautiful people out on Martha's Viyard.

I'd let 'em slap me with that.

And now, lets return to why Antifa is "hated" by folks on the right.

Could it be that regular folks who go to work every day trying o keep it it all together and raise their kids to be productive members of society, support the efforts of the current administration and see those efforts to be I their own best interest . . .and deeply resent the efforts of Antifa to thwart President Trump's policies . . .policies and executive actions that these regular folks voted for?

These are people who want their kids to grow up to be, more like Charlie Kirk, not like the guy that shot him. They want their kids to respect and support law enforce ment personal and the rule of law in general . . .and Antifa doesn't.

Antifa thugs throwing things at law enforcement officers in the streets of Portland, Seattle, stand Chicago or anywhere else today, are not the scattered few colonial settlers standing on The Green at Lexington. Antifa rioters are not the 21sr Century equivalent of " . .embattled farmers" defending th bridge ar Concord.

Antifa looks to destroy everything those regular folks fought for 249 years ago.

And that is why folks on the right "hate" Antifa today.

I’m on the left and I don’t like antifa either. Some of their supporters give the left a bad name.
