I don't care where someone lives or who they voted for, requiring all recipients to re-apply for benefits would allow program authorities, if they ae vigilant, to weed out anyone who should not be getting benefits . . .like if they are dead.

Certainly agree ineligible should not get benefits.

Nor should the problem be overstated.

Back in Nov 25, Rollins said USDA study showed 186,000 dead people were getting SNAP/EBT benefits (still wonder if that was actually getting benefits or were just on the rolls).

Even if all were receiving benefits, that would be a 'fraud' rate of 0.44% (186,000 dead, 42 million on rolls)

Report said another 500,000 receiving benefits in more than one state
An abuse rate of 1.2%
