SMH at the misguided people in this thread advising a guy they don’t know to go against the advice of the doctors who prescribed the medication he is taking, and think “get over it and have more sex” is going to solve his problems.
Please, stop it.

I haven't noticed any change in libido with my SSRI, but my dosage is very low. In 2020 my anxiety increased--because, duh--and I upped my dosage for six months; but then took it back down, but not because of any issues with sex drive.
Like others have suggested, talk to your doctor about trying something else.

This is probably one of the worst places to ask this kind of question. It really should be directed to a medical professional. Youre going to have your "get over it" people, the big pharma bad, dont take meds people.. and everything in between, all of which does not help you at all.

Talk to the doc who is prescribing your pills. Also, what are you taking? SSRI, SSNRI, TCA? Typically Wellbutrin is one docs will try if you’re having libido issues. Or are Erin if you don’t mind being sleep and hungry.

OP what ever you don't stop meds cold turkey. ask your Dr. first
this kind of heath issue is NOT JUST GET OVER IT !!
I have a close family member who need's meds and I have seen the worst part of this heath issue , with and with out med's...
The meds take weeks to start working in your blod stream and if you stop taking them cold turkey they leave faster then you think and will set you back back back.. I have seen it for years !!
Right this is the last place to ask for Med info..

Typical American responses given here, keep him medicated instead of getting to the root cause of the depression. (I’m American). Get the professional help you need so you don’t have to take the meds.

Typical American response from an American who thinks he knows better than everyone else because he's American.

Dumb comment. I only put that I was American because I didn’t want the douche bags on here thinking I was Indian or something else. But yeah, what the hell do I know? Keep the guy on meds and side effects for the rest of his life.

I was on SSRIs for a few years due to some heavy struggles I was having. Aside from causing some bad stomach issues, they were very helpful at getting me back in the right frame of mind. I also had a therapist at the time who I could talk through work and marriage challenges with.
A big side effect was my ability to climax. I had no issues getting or staying hard, and sex felt wonderful, but I had a lot of problems crossing the finish line. Didn’t matter if it was manual, oral, or a vaginal finish. This was a problem. I worked with my doctor and therapist and found that lowering my dosage and timing of medicine fixed the problems while keeping me out of a depressive state.
The worst problem I can point to about being on the medication initially at a higher dosage daily was I just didn’t care about anything at all. I couldn’t cry, I didn’t feel as strong of a connection to my kids, and I had no internal remorse for many of the terrible things I had done or was doing.
My advice is to listen to Tinman. Go tell your doctor your issues. See if there are other options for medication and see if you can feather the dosage down while keeping the benefits of regulating your internal brain health. Now I have a use as needed Rx and I o ly take it if I know there are things that might cause me to lose control (funerals, stressful situation at work, etc…)
