I am pretty sure that Hati is not on the "to-do" list though.
Why not give them their independence like they wanted.
But no. We used them, and they served admirably, in war and for other things in this country.

I was talking about the US Naval base on Cuba where we were refitting our nuclear missiles.

We had many nuclear missiles in Cuba during the 'crisis'.

It was before my career, however I have had co-workers who were stationed there at that time.

Upon further research, yes the US had nuclear capable weapons at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, 12 to 24 non-nuclear depth bombs...though in the event of conflict, they could have been armed with plutonium capsules _ called "pits" _ flown in from the Naval Air Station at Cecil Field in Jacksonville. No missiles.

Sorry for distraction...Trump keeps making not-so-veiled threats against both Cuba and Colombia. And veiled ones against Mexico, though I don't think even Trump is that insane.

Maybe he really does think making 'US puppets' of useful Central and South American countries are a good defense against Russia and/or China influence.

omg, your 'research' is amiss

FBM submarines were being refitted at gitmo. At that time those were Polaris boats [16 missile launch tubes], the missiles capable of carrying up to 14 warheads each, on their MRVs.

I served 20 years on FBMs.
