Ms. Athena, I can't speak for everybody, but will speak for myself.

I started this hobby stuff 12 years ago, to the very day, and during my time I will say I had 95% success in seeing providers. I've been on hiatus over the past 2 years, but when I was deep in the hobby I never would have considered a backpage or craigslist lady, unless they had positive reviews by men I know personally.

For example I will use Alli, she was on backpage, but had a few really outstanding reviews by men I know, and men I know personally, not know only by postings on this site. My session with Alli was outstanding, so this was one lady who was basically on backpage, but moved to here and other hobby sites.

The best way for men to meet the ladies and ladies to meet the men were socials. Let's be honest, it's difficult for both men and ladies (more toward the ladies side) to just walk up to a motel room, when both parties only knew each other by a voice on the phone, or an email, then get intimate with each other. There is always doubt and uncertainty on both sides.

What I would suggest is for you and a few of your provider buddies think about having some sort of meet and greet, however strict groundrules must be set, and must be abided by. No mention of money or what happens behind closed doors, but a meet and greet so you can introduce yourselves to the men, and likewise they can introduce themselves to you, using their eccie handle. This forms some sort of trust and makes the primary visit a lot easier to handle before the clothes come off.

I've always thought why some guys do the backpage thing is so they may find some sort of diamond in the rough, then make a review so they can be a 'hero' to the other guys.

A meet and greet would be a good thing to put together for some of us "newer" providers or new to this site. Maybe it will ease some of the concern that you guys have for those of us who post on BP as well as here. And then maybe yall will chose us more often & not have to post those "no" reviews as much!

Not only that, but there's something else. A picture is just a picture, be it on a providers website, a showcase here, or a backpage ad. A social can put warmth and personality behind those pictures, and makes the lady more real. Over my time, I've seen pictures of ladies, and just made a quick glance, but meeting in a social setting made the future appointment possible.

I have heard of a few meet and greets but they were VERY selective with whom was invited and knew the location. As I have heard of LE and news being stationed outside one in Dallas taking pictures of those that enter and their tag numbers as well. So this would not be something that would be a open post and free for all as we have to be alert and aware that this is the open net here.............

Maybe you can start a new thread and mention you and some of your lady friends would like to set up a social and see if you can get some qualified help. No doubt a lot of guys and gals would like to have one.

Very understandable, would make it easier on us too im sure. Helps every one feel a little more comfortable. As I said in an earlier post, I always feel more comfortable when I know my appointment is with a member from here than when I get a call saying "I seen you on BP". Only seeing a picture is hard im sure for the men. Especially when newer providers like MYSELF take their own and the pics are not so great any how! (lol) Every time some one walks through the door , I hear "your much prettier than your pictures". A meet & greet will give guys a chance see some one for who they are..not who they are trying to be.

A meet and greet only works for the few that have been here awhile and get invited, and who does the invite. The people on eccie and p411 have it all hanging out why have them parade themselves infront of a few of people that ain't going to report back anything to anybody anyway, just so they can see the goods upclose. Buy a ticket and see for yourself people they need the money, not the risk that's involved in a meet and greet. LE does'nt care about your rules. Damn

I guess we can agree to disagree. Even though I'm on hiatus, I've attended 2 socials in the past couple of years and met several ladies that if I were in the game, I would have seen in session, and these were ladies I've never seen before. Then again, I wasn't at the famous aspd social that was infiltrated by LE, but I attended a couple after that one.

However I'm not on any social committee, and there are many people who are more knowledgeable than I am about setting up socials. No doubt there are safe ways to get one set up and running.

Back to the question why do they do it, it seems to me it's usually the ones that have a low budget or a limited time to be with someone or they see something that can only be too good to be true, which is often the case with borrowed pics. They don't think and they don't learn from their mistakes or the mistakes of others. The information is out there, they need to find it for themselves, it can't be spoon feed or shoved down their throats. BP needs to clean it's self up by all means..

BP is what it is, yall got to stop bitchin about it. Everyone knows the deal, yall have stomped the mud hole dry you put in this dead horse. Don't use it if you don't like it. What do you expect them to do screen the girls? Issue a points system? What's your plan to clean up BP? That's what the board is for, plenty of you sit and wait for the review of a BP chick and if she's cool there's a run on her. Most the chicks here started on there. So who cares? I think the SW thing is nuts but we don't have threads constantly on that.

There have been some great providers who started out on BP and never knew about ECCIE until a member did a recon and shared this site with them.
The guy's who do recon are important part of the hobby some are smarter than others and do there homework before going in.
Some guy's like seeing a newby provider before her rates jump also they're some rare gems out there if you're willing to take some bumps along the way.

Not only BP women or newbies will rob a guy. Their are also some reviewed women that will do the same so I dont think research is the key answer to this

I agree with you SH. It's not about what site your on. The same type of people are on all sites. Men & women. I guess it is really just taking the chance. Although as he said above you - I never jacked my rates up just because I joined this site. I don't feel "im going to get more from some one because they are a "member". To be honest the same men are on this site as the others! As goes for the women. I see ladies from here posting on BP and I book appointments with men who called from a BP ad who are here too. I agree BP is crazy! But I don't think all girls should be classified the same for posting there. I did not know about Eccie until I booked with a man and after our time he sat down and told me about it and that I should join. Once I joined Eccie I then got a pm from him. He has been a Eccie member for 4 years...yet, still seeing ladies from BP. So does that mean Im less or more than a "good provider" because I joined this site? Nope, I was good when I was not here and will continue to be. These sites are for "hobby", advice, info, concern, safety...not to determine some one's character or "worth".
