Ed,

Its the weather that has been causing all of the problems here! When that improves ... you see things are much better!

Actually, although i think you meant it in jest, thats not a bad point.. so often aroudn this time of year we start hearing about S.A.D, or as otherwise known as seasonal affetcive disorder. I wonder if having the sun and warm temps around for as long as we have has decreased this phenomina .

I'm getting a bad vibe that we are going to pay dearly for this nice weather at some point very soon.

I like the snow, I have a lot of $$ tied up in snowmobiles, a trailer and accessories. That said I was driving home tonight and was thinking hell its January 10th and there is not a drop of snow on the ground, the truck is spotless and the roads are clear.

This ain't so bad at which point I cursed that my car is in storage and it would be a good night for a drive.

But for those that may have missed it ...
Yellow snow is real. You may think snow is white, but other colors of snow exist including black, red, blue, brown, and even orange snow. You may have heard the joke as a child - Don't eat the yellow snow. Snow is white in the purest form, but there are other reasons for colored snow. Arguably, the first thought for anyone on yellow snow in isolated spots is a cause by animal markings. Urine in the snow can indeed make snow yellow, but it is not the only cause of yellow snow.
There are three main types of yellow snow not caused by urine-marking of animals. First, yellow snow can occur when the snow itself is full of pollen or pine. The golden appearance of the snow can be spread over a large area.

Second, yellow snow can be caused by air pollution. Certain pollutants in the air can give snow a yellowish tinge. Air pollutants will migrate towards the poles and become incorporated into the snow as a thin film. As sunlight hits the snow, a yellow hue can appear.

Snow can also fall from the sky with a yellow color. When snow contains particles of sand or other cloud seeds, the color can be yellow even as it falls through the sky. One example was in South Korea when snow fell in March of 2006 with a yellow tint. The cause of the yellow snow was an increased amount of sand in the snow from the deserts of Northern China. NASA's Aura satellite captured the event as weather officials warned the public of the hazards contained within the snow. Yellow dust storm warnings are popular in South Korea, but yellow snow is more rare.

Other yellow snows can fall as a result of industrial waste in the air. In March of 2009, an intense yellow snow fell on the Russian Urals region as a result of industrial pollution. The snow contained high concentrations of manganese, nickel and iron, chrome, zinc, copper, lead, and cadmium according to a Moscow News source.

So even though snow that is yellow colored it it not necessarily colored by urine but a plethora of other reasons that are considered waste or pollutants. . . .thanks for the insight!! I will still tell children not to eat the yellow snow

The weather has been great driving weather for my upstate tours! It has kept me touring and has kept guys driving from hours away to see me so I believe it has helped hobbiests and providers alike to be seen and see
