I use backpage when I need to make some extra money or business is slow. I know personally many eccie verified providers who also do the same thing as myself. So, there are good girls on backpage...just do your homework when deciding who to call. BTW I love martini's also Tinman!

Sorry to have not commented on this thread sooner, but earning a living is a troublesome thing.

I think this thread brings up a real need. Some sort of forum that can be used for "short notice" hookups. I know that some (yours truly, included) have used chat for this very purpose from time to time.

But using TinMan's hypothetical, suppose a provider has an incall, or just has two openings this afternoon, or a late cancelation, etc., it would be nice if she had a place where she could post that.

Likewise, suppose I find myself in town not having expected to have the time to hobby and suddenly one of my appointments cancel. I generally just head to an AMP because I've never been able to line a provider up on short notice. I could go to said short notice forum and find two or three providers who have posted in the past 24 hours or so with openings for this afternoon, etc. I know that my schedule is probably more hectic and subject to last minute changes that most folks, but surely I'm not the only one who has folks change plans at the last minute, or who finds themselves at loose ends with a notion to hobby?

What says the assembled multitudes to this idea?

If I were more active I'd renew my yahoo group like I had before I left the hobby for several years. It was a great way to keep things current with my clients and/or fans.

I think the reason the boards don't keep an ad space up/open like that is too many providers flat out abuse it. Just look at the review section. Even the reviews can't stay on one page for more than a couple of hours.

When I'm trying to drum up business, I just go out to the street, hike my skirt up, stick a leg out, and hope for the best!

(I used to have a cardboard sign, but someone stole it.)

When neither of those methods work, I just send out a few PM's with some sort of special for my favorite friends.

Of the options discussed so far, the twitter thing sounds the most functional since it offers security that FB doesn't and is instant. Dammit! Fu*king something else for me to learn!

TTH, I was in exactly the situation you described: called out of town for business, with little time to plan before I left. Ended up with two nights where I could have hobbied, but by the time I located a suitable available partner it was too late for me to act on the information. Chat was not available to me (I'm all Apple when away from home). Lest you think this only happens to out-of-towners, I encounter the same issues here in Dallas. Rather than visit an AMP, I just pocket the money for another day.

On a side note, thanks to the ladies offering to entertain me. Believe me, I will remember the next time the opportunity arises!

A couple of times I have received P411 PM's from providers who have given me ok's. I too am one of those that can be contacted any time. I get emails on my phone but I can't always answer them right away. Texting is cool too. Geez, sounds like I am advertising, eh?

I always feel weird about sending out a text or pm even with a special. I guess, I just assume if a gentleman wanted to see me, he would ask.

I have done it before with great results, but the initial act of it...makes me feel uneasy.

So when I am bored, I just sit and twiddle my thumbs until someone texts or emails. Pathetic huh?
