There it is. The targets are easy and usually unarmed, the crime is high visibility and really strikes a chord with the "moral majority" and the fringe benefits are great. (Think freebies in exchange for letting her go... this time.)
Compare that with week after week of monotonous detective work for a murder case or a narcotics bust, coupled with violence and weapons and shit... Hell, if I were 5-0, I'd stick to busting hookers and johns too.
