One minute he's accused of acting like a dictator shoving shit down your throats, and the next minute he's accused of lying because he compromised to get something passed.
Dude can't win.

This was a compromise? With who? The only votes in favor of it were Democrat, and some of those had to bought with sweetheart deals. Who did he compromise with?
Oh, it's Doofie. He made it up. Never mind.

For someone who pretends to be so smart, you seem to have a 2nd grade understanding of how the whole legislative process works.
Maybe you need to go back and re-watch some Schoolhouse Rock skits.
Anyways, here's where the compromise is laid out.
Key paragraph since i suspect you won't read the link:
"DeParle's memo makes clear that the Obama White House remained skeptical of the mandate as late as the spring of 2009. Like anyone who has won an election, Obama naturally wanted to avoid contradicting his campaign positions if he could. The President was pushed into adopting the individual mandate by two forces: Democrats in Congress and the C.B.O. When it became clear that it was untenable for Obama to keep his anti-mandate campaign position, his aides looked to Massachusetts to craft their own proposal, which included the same kind of hardship waiver as the state law
The house bill and the senate bill both had a mandate. That left Obama as essentially the only Democrat who was opposed to the mandate. If he wanted a health care bill, he didn't have much choice.
You've now been proven a fool. Again.
Perhaps you should refrain from posting opinion articles and passing them off as fact.

How anyone can be "against" affordable health care is beyond me. Personally, I'm grateful. Regence rejected me, so I, personally, can't get insurance at any dollar amount. My two perfectly healthy kids I pay $500 a month for. They go in for well child checkups once a year. Does that seem fair to you?
|
What's more ridiculous is that if you had a poorer paying job here in Texas you could get comparable insurance via the STAR program for kids for $50 a month or less.

So, he had to break his promise to appease his own party, the party that chose him over Hillary, who had the mandate they all wanted. Is that correct? And you respect that? Then he doesn't lead his party, and is not in control. Even though the party voted for him, because he didn't want a mandate.
Tell you what. I think he lied. He knew the bill had a mandate in it before he was elected. You're the fool for believing him, Doofie.

Perhaps Obama just miscalculated like StupidOldFart did when he claimed that the SC would rule the health care law unconstitutional by a 6-3 margin!
There you have it folks, problem solved!

You were proven a fool, and now you try to defend your foolishness by spouting nonsense.

Of course you think he lied. You think he's the devil incarnate. Your credibility is zero.
So you think he was resistant to the mandate, mostly behind the scenes, no less, so that those of us on a provider review board could claim he didn't lie during the last election.
And you call me a fool?

And the reality is, Obama acquiesced on the mandate as a last resort, when he realized that he either had to, or there'd be no health care reform.
Mitt Romney, on the other hand, is, was, and always has been of the mind that the mandate is an absolutely wonderful idea.
So if you're truly a single issue voter, and that issue is your being opposed to the mandate, Romney is, in reality, by far the worst of the two evils.
That's just a fact.

Keep trying, Doofie. It's fun to watch you squirm around trying to defend the President.
