But doesn't this serve the purpose of the forum?

A learning example of what not to do?

No I am not going to question her screening methods that obviously failed horribly enough that she drove an hour each way to end up at the wrong house but this provider or another one, could just have easily been lured to a location and suffered a much worse fate than just wasting time.

Prostitutes in this country have been lured to homes and robbed, beaten, raped, and killed so what would happen if this asshat decides to escalate his behavior to something else? Say stealing her phone, car, and identification and leaves her stranded?

Did she leave the information on where she was going with anyone? Did she give anyone his screening data before she left the house?

Whether providers know it or not, there are appraisal district websites where you can enter the address of the property and find out who owns the place and simply ask the called for the name of who own the house and if he can't tell you right away, hang up. Or if he does tell you, keep asking other questions about the place such as when it was purchased and what the taxes are. Sure it takes time but if the caller doesn't know, why bother getting in the car.

Here's another issue.

A bad guy could set you up to leave your own place on a trip he knows will take 2 hours and this could be a set up to give him plenty of time to enter your place and empty it out. How pissed would you be to come home and kind all your shit stolen?

There is a huge implied danger when providers fail to screen properly and head out for this sort of appointment.

That's a pretty broad definition of "[i]ssues which could endanger the safety of a member or members of our community," Laz. Where was the danger here? From driving? From driving unnecessarily? From the chance of getting hit by a comet while driving? There as no indication the OP was ever in ANY danger or that she reasonably could have been. This isn't the 'What if?' forum. The guidelines for this forum state:

Quote:
Issues which could endanger the safety of a member or members of our community go here. Please reserve this space for legitimate alerts, and not general FYI material.
What you're talking about is "general FYI material" that belongs in coed.

I agree with Laz. Report these incidents where appointments go awry here, and if they don't meet the definition of an alert, let a mod move them to Coed.

Some folks only have limited time or access, and may only get to read Alerts, Reviews, and not much else. The Coed page is mostly fluff anyway.

If a mod wannabe feels strongly enough that it should be moved, just hit the RTM button and let a mod decide.

By the way zillow.com is also a good way for a lady to find out if she's being called out to a nice upscale or middle class neighborhood or one that might be a little shady. You get a map of the address you punch in, plus surrounding properties, with dollar values. How you use the information is up to you, but if you are going to an unknown address/neighborhood alone, it might be something you wish to consider.

trynagetlaid: I think your argument turns on itself. I agree that alerts is a priority forum and I rarely read coed because it's full of "fluff." So we shouldn't fill the alerts forum with posts that are not alert-worthy.

btw, this thread has been moved to coed. I rest my case.

There are several ways to screen for a legit outcall... and if that outcall cant be screened.. you gotta ask yourself.. "is the donation worth the cost of bail, atty fees, or risk of burial fees"

Hmm...who hit the RTM button? I'll give you three guesses and the first two don't count...

Just proves the system works as it's designed to...

That's a fine line you're drawing the sand. Obviously, at least one other person agrees with you. No one really knows if the OP was in danger except the person that made the call.

It's not my line -- it's Eccie's line. And the line's not fine. Something that's alert-worthy is an issue that presents an imminent threat of potential harm. Not an issue, that if X, Y, and Z also happen, there would be an imminent threat of potential harm. If a post full of maybe's and what-if's constitutes an alert, then let's change the name of the forum to 'Speculation.'

Again, there was NOTHING in the OP's post stating ANY fact that she or someone else was in danger. To invent scenarios including danger would be speculation.

Ok, that did it. I've now seen the other side of ShysterJon and any doubt as to who I would engage if I (knock knock) got into shit is gone.

Screw scary. I, for one, want to give ShysterJon mad props for the advice and useful posts he makes. Much appreciated, sir!

As for our original poster, I'm kinda inclined to ask Ms. Ashley over to see if I can unsour her on outcall experiences . . .

Thanks. I'm just trying to make sure you don't become a police dog's chewtoy.
