4 games out with 5 to play.....not likely to happen.

Next year is our year though!!

And I really mean it this time, unlike the last twenty five times I've said it, lol.

You guys showed some promise this year though...nothing to be ashamed about.

While I don't ever agree with sacrificing promising future players for a quick free agent type fix, Shields was an ace on a staff that didn't have one. If you guys had made the playoffs, everyone would be singing a different tune, he and Guthrie are the reasons you got as close as you did. He'll, if you guys has any offense at all Santana would have been a 15 game winner with his ERA. You can build hitters pretty quickly, it takes a long time to build pitchers...

Overall I think you guys have some good things going though. I think Hosmer is a great young kid, and with all youngsters, you guys need to keep him mentally in sync. I think Shields will be good again next year. Pick up some run support, and you guys have a good chance next year.

Did somebody steal WU's password to his handle...everybody knows he is just a mean 800lb gorilla in Eccie land!! LOL
Of course we have our new version now with Mr.Grizzly

Tough to give up such a hot prospect in the trade....but Shields certainly did his part, and more than just being a steady #1
GM & Owner need to add a couple of serious pieces to the equation next year...hopefully not the typical KC sport, just do nothing thing

The Royals didn't have quite enough...sure would have been interesting if they had gone .500 in May, rather than 5-19.

But the kids played some inspiring baseball in 2nd half of the year...tied with Detriot in AL, for best record after the All Star break

At least it was fun to have some interesting games during August and September out at the K

And to Wakeup....good luck with the Cardinals

Thanks, I wanted to post this here before the playoffs start and I change my avatar.

I've sat in a hundred or so games in Kaufmann Stadium, right behind home plate, and enjoyed every minute. (It helps to have a sister who used too work in the front office while I was in college) Talking to Buck O'Neil was always a good time, and even though the '85 flag waving in the outfield always wrankled me, I love baseball enough to get past it to watch a game. I think you guys have a good core now, especially some solid pitching. Get some run support, and I'll be flying back up there for vengeance in another I-70 Series soon enough.

Ive been to a few stadiums and the K is the best one I've been to. It's a shame it has taken the Royals this long to get at least respectable. Personally I think the baseball season is too long and they should find ways to speed up the game. It's just not as much fun to watch as football. I was 12 in 85 when the Royals won it all, I still remember how exciting it was for this cow town.

Default A winning season....

Well, the Royals finished the season 86-76 and that begs the question who among us actually thought a winning season was possible after such a disastrous month of May?

Congrats to the Royals! Fill in the holes and qualify for the playoffs next year!
