i mean if its moved to co ed in order to allow open discussion, and to allow the provider in question to respond, shouldnt she be allowed to defend what ever was said about her bcd. why is it still a violation since its not a review?
i only ask this in open forum, just in case others wonder the same thing
I was thinking that, too. Sixx you are correct, but if this is in Co-Ed, wouldn't the ROS section be available for all to see and comment on? Or, did you post that before it got moved? That would be understandable if you did.

I missed Space's comments with regards to this being open for all. I guess I got tunnel vision. lol

Everything is restored back to the way it was before I goofed.

Carry on!

Really??!!?? Don't the ROS tags serve the same function as PRIVATE tags? Just because the post doesn't meet the standard for a review doesn't mean the OP wanted the information he put in ROS to be available to anyone and everyone. ROS and PRIVATE tags should be respected no matter where they are posted.

Traditionally, ROS loses its privacy privileges once a "review" is determined to not be a review.

You have a point, though. ROS contents are often written with the mindset that you have confidentiality with other PA members (guys).

What you should also remember is that non-PA members are not able to make any written statements in "private" tags. In a sense, you could say that members need to earn PA access to earn the privilege to private tags. Likewise, ROS privacy is a privilege afforded only to reviews.

Do I agree with it in practice? No, but I'm also unaware of the other considerations mods and board owners have when they made that decision.

Wow. That's crazy.

Moral of the story: don't drink, drive and try to find pussy. Do it sober.

A person writing in an area that SHOULD be private should have the right to his comments remaining so no matter where the thread is moved to....

If a Mod is going to move the thread the ROS should be placed in Private tags out of respect to the OP.

I believe you may be missing the point here, Whispers. If a review thread is moved to Co-Ed, then ALL can see what is stated in the ROS since no services took place.

So, wouldn't putting private tags around a statement related to the ROS that is open for EVERYONE to see in CO-ED be redundant?

You're right, on technicality basis.

But consider it from the OP's perspective.......would he have revealed the information he did if he'd known the contents would be open to viewing by non-PA members?

A lot of the info exchanged on ECCIE rests on the basis of confidentiality. If you felt that trust would be breached, would you still speak up as freely?

Okay, I was unclear and I believe you misunderstood me, Beagle. What I meant was: wouldn't putting private tags around it AFTER it had been moved to Co-Ed be redundant? That is why KnottyMan and I were trying to make Sixx and others aware of this.

I think I'm going to let this one lie because I feel that I am hijacking this thread. So--

Meanwhile, back at the topic of the thread........................ .............................. ..........

Log on as a guest, and you will see that the ROS is not visible even though the review is now in CoEd. The only part of the ROS that has become visible are the parts that other posters have taken it upon themselves to reveal.

Whispers is absolutely correct, in my opinion, the ROS should be respected no matter what fora it appears in.

Except apparently our mods disagree. I have to ask, Mods, has your interpretation of this been discussed with your mod peers?
