Anyhow, I can assure you guys that they are independent. Ellie just became independent and Holly is helping her out on how to navigate the murky waters of independence.
I asked them yesterday about the L.A. thing. Ellie thought that Holly's name was cool and she wanted to do something similar AND like a little sister looking up to the older sibling, she adopted the L.A. prefix in her name.
They also thought that by having the prefix, people would more easily associate them as doubles partners (which they are). Of course, this has backfired on them, given how this thread is shaping up.
