If I am not mistaken, JDIdiot has previously made the claim that MLK would be a modern day Republican.

Martin Luther King Jr. was an intelligent, thoughtful, independent thinker. Of course he would not be a democrat. Now if you (like EVA) think that he would be a democrat just because he is black then you are a racist. Aren't you EVA?

O course MLK was an "intelligent, thoughtful, independent thinker." He supported traditional conservative values, such as his opposition to war, his support of income redistribution, jobs programs and government spending.
And the list of traditional conservative values MLK supported goes on and on and on. Surely, he would not be a modern day democrat.

And I bet that if Strom Thurmond were still alive today he would also be a modern day Republican.
Oh that's right, Sen. Strom became a modern day Republican following the passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and was a modern day Republican until his death a few years ago.
According to JDIdiot, Strom Thurmond and MLK were two peas out of the same pod!

This is going to be the big issue in the midterms and 2016 elections.
Since 2000, more jobs have gone to immigrants (legal and illegal) than to citizens. Google the sentence.
The labor market performs like any other under supply and demand. When you have a huge influx of cheap labor it effects wages for the middle class and especially the working poor. In Texas, you can't hire a brick mason, cabinet maker, roofing crew or road construction crew that are citizens. These jobs once paid middle class wages. Don't think that illegals just pick fruit. This is the main reason why middle class wages are declining and both parties share the blame. I saw an article about a meat packing plant where the whole plant was illegals. ICE went in and the company called their representatives and they were told to stand down. You think that citizens might want these jobs if they paid? Do we really want companies that exploit people?
It cost 50% more to educate a non-English speaking student. Why is it against the law to ask for a birth certificate when a student enrolls in public school? Why isn't it a felony to hire illegals?
Reagan said signing the amnesty bill was his biggest mistake. Democrats promised to secure the border but it never happened. Only fools don't benefit from their mistakes.
In the next few weeks, Obama is going to sign an executive order granting amnesty to millions of illegals. I believe this decision is going to be the focus of the next two elections.

I agree, if the focus can remain on the economics of the situation and not be sidetracked by race, then the points you make need to be debated.
We don't need assholes exploiting immigrants like WTF does everyday for his own benefit and to the detriment of the working class.

The TrendingIdiot Countdown continues! The thread now has a lifespan of 40 days and nearly 370 posts. Yet, there is still no verifying link from Trendy indicating that MLK "opposed illegal immigration," as he boldly proclaimed in the OP.
Where's the link, TrendingIdiot?
