no need to ban them. after killing or loosing 2 or 3. they are not given another.

I use to shoot "Hunters Pistol". And was range master at the time. I started with single action revolvers. Went semi-auto, many preloaded clips works out better.

I did learn something from here.
I always thought the strongest fervor for guns of unlimited firepower - however irrational - would come from those who want to protect themselves from the tyrannical government (which has tanks and nuclear missiles). I did not expect such strong passion from "recreational" users who want to have access to the latest "technology" - no matter how massively lethal such hi-tech "toys" are when used as killing machines.

Your bias (and unfair terminology) is shining through. killing machines BAH. They are only killing machines in the hands of people with the intent to kill. Why not go to the core of the problem and ban people with the intent to kill?

I was merely stating the fact that this favorite "toy" to some is a "killing machine" to others. You seem to agree.

Please enlighten us on how you would "ban people with the intent to kill".

gp u know 4 teachers, great, i know 25 that said they are not comfortable holding guns or around guns.
were not going to arm teachers, thats insanity,
heres my question i already know the answer.
how many rounds can someone get off with the bushmaster that was used in this massacare?
in a minute??
any guess.
please indulge.
And yes gp, the parents burying thier kids will have thier say, and change is good, if youre an old man then u dont like change, but change is good.
and we will change from this.
id ban all guns if it was up to me, but thats not gonna happen.
but u can look at england and what they did and thier cops dont carry guns, and thier crime rate is low.
so well learn and well move on.
but yes the nra is already losing 55 percent say to ban the bushmaster and all mag rounds of 10 or more.
so nra will lose.
just as romney lost when u said he would win.
live and learn.

Not even close. ANYONE who considers them a toy should be no where near them!

I don't know how anyone would do that. It was said to make a point. Since you can't ban people, then I suppose your logic would dictate going after the next easiest thing. That is what this is all about anyway, isn't it? Instead of getting to the real crux of the problem, let's just blindly ban guns. How about getting rid of some of the stupid laws on the books, enforcing the good laws and maybe do a better job of mental health care in this country. Yep, that would be the hard way to go about it, but I am up for the task. How about you?

gp why do u think mental health at anything to do with this crime??
HE was smart enough to destory his computer hard drive and leave nothing left behind for cops.
He was smart enough to pick on a school with no men teachers or admin in it.
He was smart enough to wear amror and use a weapon strong enough to shoot through the door at the front of the buildiing by shooting mutliple rounds of 60 to get in according the reports.
He had loads of ammo up to 1000 rounds divided by 30 dont know my math is bad lol but al lot.
He was smart enough to have his pistol to shoot himself in the head when the cops got there in the hallway before he would of been gunned down or surrended.
Theres no evidence that he was mentally ill as of yet.
But we know he had weapons and ammo that he SHOULD NOT OF HAD ACCESS TO.
tHEY werent regiestered is in name were they??
just sayin
ban em all baby

The number of teachers either of us know is irrelevant. Plus, most (not all) teachers are union members, bleeding heart liberals and are brainwashed into thinking guns are bad.

In my book, it is not the best option either, but it is always an option.

I have no clue. I do not own a bushmaster like the one used. Since you are such a sage on this topic, why don't you enlighten us. I bet the answer you give is not complete though, and I promise you I will find all of the holes in it.

You are welcome to your opinion as is everyone else, but please do not go around stating your opinion as if it were fact. You sir are not the all knowing expert on whether or not change is good.

You are correct on this

Baloney! You need to go and recheck your facts, because you are dead wrong. Their gun crime rate increaed, then decreased but their violent crime rate increased across the board.

Would love to see where you got your (ahem) "facts" on this statement. I call BS.

I never said Romney would win and what in the world does that have to do with this?
Please go check your facts, or don't. It's totally upto you. But if you enjoy arguing a subject, you should at least be somewhat informed on it, and that does not mean just reading recent headlines. I have been actively involved with this topics for decades.
